Here's an extract of an article in cyberspace regarding CB DeAngelo Hall once again blaming another coaching staff that empowered him to exercise those wonderful skills he wasn't shy about promising:
Hall was the victim on a 30-yard completion from Tony Romo(notes) to Dez Bryant(notes) that converted a third-and-21 during Dallas’ game-winning drive. Afterward, Hall faulted defensive coordinator Jim Haslett for calling yet another all-out blitz on the play, saying it doesn’t take a “rocket scientist to figure it out after a while.”
Sometimes you just gotta take the tampon out and put the jockstrap on. It totally reminded me of Eric Wright waiting to tell the newspapers the coverage schemes sucked vrs Baltimore when ALL he had to do was 1) get in a pre-snap stance that shows he's ready to compete, 2) Lift an arm to deflect the pass and maybe even jump, and 3) in between series tell Ryan or the DBs coach he either needs help or we need a different scheme he's better equipped at. It's not like he didn't have the entire week of preparation to discuss any potential concerns or alternatives. Why do that when you can just wait to complain to the first columnist you can?
Making game day adjustments is all about communicating and including players. When you head off the field and you're an olinemen - your coaches want to know if they are stunting up front, playing 1 gap or 2 gap or if you have a candyass across from you. Rob Ryan should have just looked at Eric Wright's pre-snap stance and got the same message Baltimore's OC and QB got so that's the main place I would have blamed him. I couldn't feel better about the addition by subtraction of Eric Wright. Our corners bring it every play; and we're much better for it.
