Default Apples, oranges and oh, yeah, first-round talent or lack thereof...

They should be better since the talent is better and there's no ridiculous QB controversy but they aren't actually playing better than those teams which had many more issues.

Without totally rehashing past history, Mangini had two awful off-seasons, only one of which can really be blamed on him (no doubt he's a better coach than GM). He had no QB, no RT, no WRs, no DBs but still managed to keep the team focused and in every game.

I'm not saying Mangini did everything well but I could understand what Mangini was building and liked it. I watch this team and neither understand nor like what's happening. I see this team getting worse, not better, as the competition and season go on because of habits and tendencies that are forming.

And Shurmur being his own OC is foolishness. I expect one more good game against OAK after the bye and then I'm afraid it's all going downhill fast.
