I have some concerns about Berry's tackling and run support ability. He was asked to play almost like a LB last season, and the results weren't always pretty.

As Mel Kiper said, "You study tape of Eric Berry this year, and you're not going to like what you see" (at 23:49 in this clip).

However, he's still an elite safety prospect, and I'd be all for taking him at #7.

Yikes. You've just left me even more confused, Alo.

Wish Dez Bryant wasn't such a dipshit. It'd be a slam dunk. Or that Clausen wasn't... shit, whatever people don't like about him.

And therein lies the issue. He was asked to play a hybrid type of position, and it took time to adjust. No NFL team is going to ask their safety to play like a LB. When you watch tape of Berry this past year, he seemed almost too eager to come up in run support, like it was all on him to stop the ball carrier. This led to him taking some poor angles to the ball and poor form on tackling.

However when he's playing his natural Safety position there is none better than him.

So yes, his highlights were slightly disappointing this year, but considering what was asked of him, I still have him as the best prospect (next to Suh) in the draft.
