Well that could have nothing to do with the fact that Fitz has a good 3+ years of NFLexperience over Colt plus easily 3x more starting experience than Colt, even though Buffalo was the first team to give him a shot... he started a good number of games for Cinci, equal to that of which we have given Colt thus far. I think the McCoy/Fitzpatrick analog is a lot more fitting then the Brees fantasy a lot of us have been clinging to.

Boy, Panthers fans have a lot of fun ahead of them. Newton's learning curve has been REALLY short. Same for Andy Dalton, who already has two fourth quarter comeback wins. Gabbert showed a lot of improvement in his second start. Kid has a gun. Bet he catches up fast. |

| This is completely OT but you know what this made me think of? Michael Dean Perry and his off-sides calls. Can't remember which coach it was that said he didn't care how many times Perry got called 'cause he said "one day he's going to intercept the snap." LOL...THAT would be a sight to see!!!! |

Shep, let's be just a little patient before we annoint guys like Newton and Dalton as having arrived. I know we're all frustrated by what we're seeing from the Brown and Orange, but let's not throw gasoline on the fire.

Newton will nrever arrive, what you see is what you get. A guy that throws for alot of yards that amount to jack shit 'cause he can't close drives or help but turn the ball over. Not to mention if he keeps telling his receivers to fuck themselves via twitter they're going to stop catching his passes so he and his room brightening smile might want to can the overinflated ego. Andy Dalton for the 2nd week in a row is right on the doorstep of arriving. Of course this isn't is my Aaron Rodgers pick. Those that seen it can maybe remember my asking before the draft "why isn't Dalton rated higher? He should be!" Needless to say I am happy to see him doing well and proving the naysayers wrong. Now he hasn't lit it up just yet but he IS right there on the verge. I spent today watching that game and the MN game and Dalton was pulling out the hat tricks for a 2nd week in a row and is making people sit up in their seats and take notice. |

McFadden IS THE LEADING reciever for the Raiders.. So it's not really stopping the run..but then again it IS ALSO STOPPING THE RUN since he is also the leading running back in the entire NFL as of last weeks games. Sooooo we can say it's a passing league ..... which means : stop McFadden.. Then we also need to stup the run.. which means stop McFadden.. ..................................Any questions?

You guys wanna see balance... watch the Niners. Talk about a symbiotic relationship between pass and run. That team is gonna be a handful. They're in a new offense and it really broke out second half of the Eagles win and now they're just destroying Tampa Bay. They just pulled Alex Smith with a 127 passer rating, so now his last 7 games: 91 108 90 99 86 112 127 The samples size is growing now, with a passer rating over 100 for his past 7 starts (and over 100 for this season, too). If I'm him, I name my next son James Harbaugh Smith, because it's about time you put the QB with the 160 IQ in a WCO. In San Fran, fittingly. |

You want to look at Alex Smith who appears to be arriving in what... his 8th NFL season? I agree that we should have good expectations for Colt, especially after how quickly he seemed to get into the groove last year but there could also be a *gasp* Sophmore slump of sorts at play here. I don't know, I'm not going to write off Colt. Sez, I absolutely agree, it will come down to stopping McFadden and I am worried that he's going to run wild on our relatively average at best rush D.

Again... not a Colt comparison. But Smith is a guy who was called burning shit on a stick by a lot of people who probably had barely watched him play... and I kept saying he was gonna be good. It's not like it just started, though. His last two seasons were pretty good (32/22, QBR of 83) and now this year he's taking the next step. Of the previous four seasons, he missed two to injury or benching (and kind of a combination of the two). Again, what's kind of weird: He'll be 27 all season. He was 20 when he started as a rookie. |

Not really saying that you're drawing the comparison but I am kind of pulling that both Fitzpatrick and Alex Smith are guys that took their time to hit their stride. In Smith's case, there were a lot of factors. Fitzpatricks is more a case of right place, right time for Buffalo. McCoy? Who knows how his tale will play out but I just think some people are jumping the gun, there are QB's who "get it" quickly, some take time to develop. Rome wasn't built in a day and I know Brown fans, we're just waiting for our 'lucky break' of sorts. McCoy's got some of our hopes up and the thought that they'll be dashed (again) is not an easy one.
