After watching Pittsburgh beat up on the Tits with a patchwork offensive line AT BEST, I don't want to hear any more excuses about our offensive line. I don't want to hear the right side our line is weak, or that we lost Steinbach, or anything else of that nature. We better start getting it done. Pinkston, Lavao , and Pashos better get thier shit together. Then people will say " well they do have a franchise QB" and that is true. If having a franchise quarterback means your offense can still produce with that bunch of dead beats for a line, then Colt better start getting it done too if he is supposed to be our franchise QB. Then there is the excuse that our WR's suck. Even Pittspukes patchwork defesive line were looking like all pros today, and we stilll can't stop the run or put consistant pressure on the QB. Seems like there is always an excuse in Cleveland but I am done with them. This team can play better than what they have and they better start. I was willing to give the new regime time, but Shurmur better get his shit together and get this team heading in the right direction. It's the same excuses every year, new coaches, new players, injuries, new schemes. It's time these motherfuckers start earning thier paychecks. |

Pittspuke ran for 150+ yards against Tennessee. For crying out loud, they had Jonathan Dwyer, no-name a 6th round pick with 28 yards to his name in 2 years tear it up for 100+ yards. The team averaged 6.2 yards per carry on the ground and 7.1 yards per play in the air. Ben had 5 TDs. I would KILL for those numbers on a browns team. Its just frustrating to see what an effective offense looks like and then compare to our team.

You should watch SF right now. Talk about all the pieces coming together, run AND pass... it's pretty to watch. Same for Buffalo. Neither team has a big armed QB but everything clicking. I don't know most of the guys Fitzpatrick is throwing to, either. Stevie Johnson... I know he emerged some last year. But the rest of those guys? Hell, no. |

I wanted us to draft Dwyer.. I loved him in College.. hardly a no name.. he dropped farther than he should have and Pitts swooped in and got a good RB.. as always.. I hate Pissburgh.

Yeah, Dwyer was in the first round of a lot of mocks before he ran a slow 40. A lot of us liked him for the Browns. How come the Steelers line doesn't suck when guys go down and they play no-names. Hell, we have two first rounders, a third rounder, a fifth rounder, and Pashos, a fairly high-dollar free agent vet. That's an above-average commitment to the line even without Steinbach. |

Well you can fall on the Coaching in this instance (another excuse for you Neo) Pittsburgh's system has been inplace since the Cowher days and Dick LeBeau's defense has been implemented for 7-8 years. There is a consistency in the coaching that Cleveland couldn't dream to have. Implementing yet another new D, and a head coach implementing a new offense. Its a simple fact that we overlook but many of us would not hesitate to mention that a core to the teams struggles has been the utter failiure to consistently implement any kind of coaching system on offense or defense over the past 12 years. This is simply one of the things that sets Pittsburgh apart from us.
__________________ BROWNS 2012: Its Weeden's job to lose, it was the second we took him #22 overall. We had a pretty good draft, and I'd like to start seeing some results. Fans already looking to next year and I don't blame them. I think we will have things to be excited about that we lacked last year and we have some real facepalm moments just like last year. It's going to be tough. We aren't Barking Hard for nothing. WOOF WOOF WOOF! ![]() |

Look at the bright side ...we are bad enough that we are a legit contender for a once in a decade type QB. San Fran sure does looked coached up well by a rookie HC. (oops there goes that excuse) A shame we didn't think Harbaugh was good enough to even give him a chat. But hey, we got the cream of the crop with our coaching hire ...Holmgrens friend visited him in a dream and told him so. (sorry I'm done now)

Harbaugh would've been a dream, man. But I thought we heard he wasn't interested and was into the Niners from the beginning? Makes sense... didn't have to move and if San Francisco isn't the most beautiful city in America... what is?

The answer is almost every other major city. Anyways according to Harbaugh he never said he wasn't interested and in fact WAS interested in this job and loved the thought of the opportunity to work with Mike Holmgren. He was never even asked about it according to him. According to the F.O. we did talk to him. I think I believe Harbaugh at this point, especially when it is Harbaugh AND Cowher both going "huh? I never heard from anyone from the Browns." Since this a thread to bitch the above is my bitch. I fell in love with a candidate, Jim Harbaugh. To me he seemed like the perfect candidate. He runs a 3-4, we ran and had personnel for a 3-4. He runs a version of the WCO, our F.O. wants us to run a WCO. Instead we said nahh that's okay, i'm gonna hire my "nephew." Meanwhile S.F. looks like the Belichick/Holmgren hybrid we all hoped for, a smart, tough, aggressive, disciplined team that can throw it, can run it and can stop the run and rush the passer. Harbaugh is 4-1 as a rookie HC. Just destroyed Tampa Bay 48-3. We're 2-2 with Holmgrens "nephew" at the helm. Scraping past bad teams. Yeah... Yep, that's my bitch. I'm tired of hiring guys and having to give them this huge ass chunk of time to field a competitive looking squad and to start winning games... Meanwhile team after team after team after team brings in new staffs and start improving from day one. Baltimore. Atlanta. New Orleans. San Fag. Tennessee. Fucking Oakland. Detroit! The one team we were able to point and laughed at could improve from 2-14 to 6-10, a swing of 4 freakin' games in one season but we have to continually be patient and hope to by years 3, 4, 5 break the 4/5 win ceiling. I agree with the rest, the O.L. stuff, the QB stuff all of it. Same shit different day for us but just once i'd love to be the team that gets it right and makes that jump. |

![]() Let's at least ride the strength we have until our passing game is where we need it to be. Our line needs to step it up big time and Hillis needs to get more involved. If we continue to play the style of offense we are now until the end of the season with no adjustments , I think that is a CLEAR indicator that we are indeed in the Luck sweepstakes. Or that Pat Shurmur is a complete tool.

One more thing on Luck, if we do end up drafting him, we better get a VETERAN who knows the system to run the team until he is ready. They say it takes three years to learn the WCO, so bring in a guy that can help tutor him, instead of throwing him to the wolves like we do with every quarterback we have drafted since coming back.
