Now you're putting words into my mouth. I would much rather have James Jones than 2/3rds of the WR's we have, not just Robo. I'd take Jones over anyone outside of Cribbs/MoMass/Little. I just don't see us having any better production out of our WR corps with Jones in a Brown and Orange uniform.

BROWNS 2012: Its Weeden's job to lose, it was the second we took him #22 overall.
We had a pretty good draft, and I'd like to start seeing some results.
Fans already looking to next year and I don't blame them.
I think we will have things to be excited about that we lacked last year and we have some real facepalm moments just like last year.
It's going to be tough.
We aren't Barking Hard for nothing.
WOOF WOOF WOOF!

He'd be our best WR. I think he, Little, and Mo would make a long-term starting trio. But... it didn't happen so I'm trying to let it go. Last night didn't help.

30 other teams passed on Jones also. I don't buy into a guy who is the 5th WR on the Packers being the piece that takes a team like the Brown over the top.

Of all the WRs signed in FA Jones wasn't one of them.

One game doesn't make a season. Sorry, but if he's a Brown I think he's no better then our 3rd WR. He still hasn't proven to anyone that he can consistently catch the ball and work against a teams top CB.

Playing where he's at in GB he gets to have some very good games once in a while because he can line up against nickle or dime backs. How do you think he holds up if he has to go against guys like Joe Haden every week? His presence might make Little or Mo better but I'd rather take my chances finding a #1 WR with one of our first round picks next year because Jones just hasn't proven he's that caliber of a player.

In my opinion, Jones was the plum of free agency at WR, better than Breaston or Rice... but obviously not everyone agrees. I watch him and see a #1 WR with size, speed, attitude, and now hands (someone at NFLN said it's a concentration issue as opposed to "bad hands" and predicted he'd be really good).

Jones started making his way out of the dog house the week before and completed his journey last night. I can only tell you what I see... and it's a potential #1 WR. I really, really wish we'd signed him. I know you don't disagree with anything the team does or doesn't do, but I sometimes do... and this is one of those times.

By your measure (teams "passing" on him, which we don't actually know)... then why are we wasting our time on McCoy after most teams passed on him 3 times, including US?

But, again... maybe it ends up making perfect sense after the next draft.

Comments about McCoy make zero sense when we are talking about a FA WR that teams decided to pass on. A lot of WRs got signed in FA and teams passed on Jones for a reason. He is GBs #4 or #5 WR for a reason.

A lot of teams signed FA WRs and a lot were looking and nobody thought enough of Jones to reach out and offer him a contract.

Why..........................and we may never know but that's in the drawer with all the other Monday morning QB stuff..............coulda, shoulda, woulda.

It would've been better for the player and for the Browns... but it didn't happen.

That dude has 3 good games per season - and those folks play more than 16 games. Overpriced in this offense dude.
