He's not a Pete Carroll guy so he's gotta go. Honestly he isn't as bad as fans make him out to be, if he were a 2nd round pick or later it wouldn't even be an issue. That said I do agree we should have made that trade. If he doesn't pan out you're out a 7th round pick big whoop, if he does you lose likely a 5th again, big whoop.

What are you talking about guys, we are loaded with talent ...we stick our noses up at ridiculous trades like this as well as FA acquisitions. They were asking way too much. I mean, we just signed Chris "the freak" Gocong to a star salary, why would we even look in Curry's direction?

Hell yeah we did! You know you're right, we're pretty freakin' stacked. True about the price tag too man, way too steep. |

I admit it... I wonder why we can't take a flier on a guy for a 7th round pick. Seriously. Or why we couldn't have signed just a few more mid-range young free agents at OLB, DE, WR, or RT. Why not James Jones, or at least Donnie Avery or Laurent Robinson? Because we'd have to cut Robiskie? Carlton Mitchell would actually have to play a negative amount? Like, anti-play? Uhhh... yes? I vote yes? |

| Five thoughts on Aaron Curry's departure October, 12, 2011 Oct 12 8:05 PM ET By Mike Sando Five thoughts on Aaron Curry's departure from the Seattle Seahawks via trade to the Oakland Raiders, pending NFL approval:
The chart shows snap counts by week for Seattle linebackers, as provided by Hank Gargiulo of ESPN Stats & Information.

There wasn't a spot for him in the Browns' starting three. The Raiders have injury issues at LB & can have Wimbley play more with his hand in the dirt if Curry flourishes. The Browns, on the other hand, have committed to Gocong and have a still solid run defender in Fujita. And Curry's struggled in coverage, so you wouldn't get much of an upgrade in that area. With his complicated contract situation, it could be that whatever team traded for him would need to find out soon whether he's in their long-term plans. It'd be hard to figure that out if the guy's relegated to special teams duty. Charlie Casserly tweeted that all of the 25 teams he talked to before the draft had Curry in their top ten, most of them in their top five. The smart, instinctive player that consistently showed up on the college tape just hasn't displayed those same qualities on Sundays. Hopefully, he'll make it happen in Oakland. |

I can't find the article now but I read earlier that Seattle and Curry restructured his contract last offseason because they weren't happy with his performance so far. As part of the restructuring he gave up guaranteed money to have the posssibility of becoming a FA after this season. Not sure of all the details. The article also had a stat showing he was/is horrible in pass coverage showing almost everything thrown his way was caught by the RB/TE or whoever he was covering. Said Carroll was so pissed at his lack of pass coverage skills he played DE at times to negate his deficiencies. I don't know how true any of this is because I don't watch the 'Hawks. |

Here's the other thing I wonder. Just because Oakland and Seatle were talking, how do we know the Browns even knew Curry was available for a 7th rounder? If you're not activiley looking for a LB, how would you know that was the asking price for him?
