And when you don't have one? You are royally fucked. And that bums me out. Last time I felt this way, they were trotting out Frye. Oh, and then Robiskie, but that breaks the "quarterback obsession" theme.

Hey... does it add up to me being obsessed with the passing game? And how crazy would a knowledgable fan have to be to get all obsessed with THAT????
Speaking of your fetish and lover-boys, Ponder is handling the relentless pressure pretty well against the Bears in his debut in mop-up time. Well, he's running for his life a lot but he's not DEAD yet so that's something. ("I'm not dead yet!" "You will be any moment." "I feel happy! I feel happy!")

Anyway, another QB who looks better than ours. Shocking.

Oh, and yes, you are obsessed. Your real problem is YOU CAN'T STOP TYPING ABOUT IT. Most of the rest of us can. But at least you give us something to read when there's, well, nothing else to read.

Anyway, what's this PASSING you refer to? Is it like RUNNING through the AIR?

Kid continues to show he can fire back and get the team into contention. He just needs to play that way from the first whistle.

Colt isn't the usual dumbass QB we should dump. Crunch time he is dead on. He rally's. We just need that for 4 quarters especially right out of the gate.

Call me a hater if you like ...I don't give a shit, but I have to say this.

McCoy has looked terrible ...but you know what? So has every other damned player on the offensive side of the ball, and honestly the defense is much worse than last year as well, and don't go throwing stats at me after the schedule we have had, and the overall health, which we most certainly DID NOT have last season.

Do McCoy, Hillis, Cribbs, Watson, Moore, & our O-Line suddenly absolutely SUCK, or is there something else behind this? Do all of these players really lack skill? Because they ALL look like shells of the players they were last year.

OUR COACHING BLOWS ACROSS THE BOARD .....PERIOD.

We are a weak, soft, undisciplined team and it shows weak in, weak out. It's pure piss.

This is an abortion of a "team", and it's sickening how far we have fallen so quickly.

Identity ...gone.

Disciplined play ...gone.

Hard nosed, hard hitting, aggressive individual play ....gone.

Inventive schemes and getting the ABSOLUTE MOST we could out of a team that lacks a ton ....gone.

Keep selling the bullshit cheerleaders, but we're in trouble.

This coaching staff will ruin Luck if by some miracle we get him.

How are we in more trouble than 1-11? We're 2-3 so what makes you think after 5 games (most of which our QB has shown a great comeback ability) we're in some kind of trouble?

Are your expectations of 7 wins somehow in jeopardy, thus causing the rest of us "trouble."

Trouble is actually coaching a 1-11 team after getting pasted - AGAIN - by our 3rd NFL team. How was that guy never fired than and there?

Trouble my ass. Never say die, never quit.

You keep throwing out our current two wins, and talking about our win total last year as if that means something ...when instead you should be talking about what you see on the field and against what competition. Come on.

I 100% agree with you on this, which is why I so enjoyed where I saw this team heading coming into the year, after watching the fight in them last year.

You said you expect 10 wins this season, and you'd be on them as much as anyone if they didn't achieve it.

I haven't seen one lick of progression on any side of the ball. Our offense is deplorable. Our defense is average at best, which is being extremely generous, and our special teams are horrid.

How have we progressed? What have you seen that makes you believe we have improved IN ANY WAY?

Prediction : Holmgren coaches next year and we can lay the blame at the feet of he who deserves it most.

Unless he is smarter than that and just bows out completely.

It's a tough job coaching these Cleveland Browns ...and certainly not something you could have fixed in 2 years. Just remember we have a new coach due to wins & losses, and the FACT that they believed our team was capable of playing BETTER with the talent they were fielding.

I wish I was a fly on the wall in the offices @ Berea ...H & H must be like "but we have all of this talent, how is this happening?!"

LOL

Shurmur was > Harbaugh, Jackson and all the other coaching candidates out there ...and only that mad genius Mike Holmgren, who has had such a stellar track record of running organizations realized it.

Thank God for Mike Holmgren & Dawg Pound Mike. HUZZAH!

Do you remember how much the kid called audibles last season?

Think about it.

Couldn't agree more. I listened to the game at work and I got the impression that the play calling was just disgusting. Since week 1 it seems the play calling on both sides seemed shitty. I gave the coaches a leash. It's week 6 and nothing is different from week 1, when the plays just aren't working. Add this onto how Hillis has been handled (I thought this was over money but it seems like Shurmur seriously doesn't want this guy in the game) and I have this horrible feeling we'll be going through another coaching change within a couple years.

Default Bright Spot: WRs

Cribbs, Mo, & Little gave me hope today (yesterday). Those guys were fighting for balls, and fighting for yards after the catch. I saw 1 good pass today. The rest were good catches; going up TO THE BALL. Things WR's are expected to do, we just haven't seen them in a while. I like our current unit.

I can't believe I'm about to write this, but you toss Aaron Rogers in a Seal & Orange uni, and Mo, Little, Cribbs start to look like Driver, Jennings, Nelson. #JustSayin

Also, Vickers can pick-up a blitz. Fuck you, Hardesty/Shurmur/Marecic

We look like a team w/ a rookie head coach.
We look like a team w/ a rookie QB.
We look like a team w/ little preseason training.
We look like a team w/ rookie d-lineman.

We look like etc., etc., ......

We look like they all said we would look like.
We look like we should run a two minute offense all game.(even though they were slow as hell executing it.)

I didn't see as much of the game as I would have liked, but I'll say this. You won't see me posting much here for the rest of the season. I don't want to spend all day talking about teh QB position when it's not the only problem on this team, and in my opinion, isn't the biggest. So far, YES, Colt is playing like a guy who's going to get traded next year for a bag of chips after we draft a new QB, I'm all for drafting a new QB. But if anyone thinks that adding even Andrew Luck to this team next year makes this team into a winner, then I want what you are smoking.

lets see.

AWFUL special teams = bad coaching.

The offense looks better in 2 minute drills than in the set offense and looks worst at the very start of the game. What's at the very start of the game? that's right, the pre-scripted plays the offensive coordinator set forth as his best way to start the game. BAD COACHING.

Now Cribbs is adding to the chorus of folks who aren't happy with the way the offense is run? Some of that is Colt not seeing him when he's open but some of it is also what? BAD COACHING.

We're 27th in the leauge against the run defensively. SO much better than last year right?

I don't want Shumur fired, I'm ok with drafting a QB in the first round next year. But I'm not going to be able to stomack the talk of drafting a QB being the #1 topic for the next 11 weeks when there are still so many other holes on this team.

You mean right of the gate when it's our OC calling the scripted plays he developed to get the offense moving?

And then colt platys better when it's 2 minute and not so much about the OC's scripted plays?

Look at those two guys and the teams they are guiding and I challenge anyone to tell me why we MUST continue to look this bad.

And spare me the Shurmur defense, Vegas. All of us watched all of the last two years and there is ZERO comparison in how this team looks and competes compared to those -- and this version is more talented, albeit FAR younger, than any Mangini fielded.

Back to Harbaugh and Schwartz compared to Shurmur: other than the obvious advantage of having experienced (and more talented) QBs, both those guys HAD SUCCESS before becoming a HC. Shurmur? Not so much. His resume is as thin as McCoy's -- and it's showing.

So, yeah, Grey, banging on the QB is old -- but Shep's right. What's the point of being patient with this? It's pointless. The thing we all felt good about it the last two years that allowed us to be patient was how hard the team played as typified by Hillis.

And now that's gone, too. It's just plain depressing. This is the lowest I've been since I started following with you all in 2007.
100% agree
