Maybe I'm wrong, but that's when I became alarmingly aware of the phrase "eight in the box." And the announcers would show how the safeties were cheating up because Kosar's arm was shot.

I loved Kosar so much (got a ball autographed by him)... it was heartbreaking. He was just so cool and quirky. Then I saw him play a game for Dallas where he one-hopped a lot of throws and the announcers were talking about him with piteous tones and it was just too much.

I was lucky enough to be spared the death of Kosar's arm as I was sacrificing my liver in defense of my country while serving overseas. I drank as much European beer as humanly possible while doing my best to develop good relations with the beautiful women of many European countries. Unfortunately for my liver I ended up staying there for 10 years.
