Wasting my time this morning reading another useless edition of "Ask Phoney-Bologny Tony" in the Sunday Plain Dealer got me thinking after reading one of his lame "uniform moratorium" responses to a valid uniform question.

A reader asked why don't the Browns ever wear Brown jerseys anymore at home? The real answer is because Holmgren decided to honor Brown's glory years of the 40's and 50's by wearing the all-whites at home this year. Um, just my opinion but the all whites worn by Otto Graham and company back in the day were boring and even more boring in 2011. Not only that but considering most sensible teams were their "colors" at home and we may only see one or two games all year when the Browns actually wear brown. B-O-R-I-N-G!!!

I know there are bigger problems to worry about with this team but look around the stands today - most are wearing orange and brown for a reason, not white and white. Mr Holmgren, I want the old tradition of winning the Cleveland Browns had from yesteryear not their Penn State-ish all white uniforms. Go Cleveland BROWNS, down with the Cleveland Whites.

I usually don't want any changes to the uni's 'cause I like what we have, but yeah, Jax, you got a point. All white is...boring.

And heck, the ball shows up better against a white background, let's get all the "advantage" we can and wear football (brown) jerseys more often!!!

I've always been a fan of the all-whites to be honest. I just like white uniforms but fully believe they should be worn on the ROAD. I love the Brown uniform, plain and simple. Also... how come we don't rock the white uni's with brown pants anymore? Didn't we do that last year? I don't know, it doesn't really matter in the end, I just think the Browns should start playing better. Mike should be more worried with the team and how it's performing on the field than cracking down on fan enjoyment at the stadiums and wearing white uni's at home to feel nostalgic for a period of time over 50 years ago.

Yep, plain white helmet with one solid brown line right down the center. Woohoo! People already refer to the Browns as the "shit stains" but this would bring it to a whole new level.

It's not about the tradition for me, I just prefer the all whites. I think the team colors of orange and brown pop out more on the white jerseys.

You may get your wish of different jerseys since Nike will be taking over for Reebok as the NFL uniform provider. So who knows if they'll make a deal with the teams to create all new stuff.

Seriously... now we're even more confusing to the world, wearing Kabala white and an orange helmet but calling ourselves the Browns. Maybe that's the plan.

I like the brown jerseys... because we're the Browns. And it's also one of my favorite colors (deep brown).

Now that I think about it the all white helmet with the solid brown line down the middle will at least get the national media talking (and laughing). We'd look like tighty whiteys. Hey it's the Homer Simpsons!
