You're kidding me right?
We could be 6-0 right now if we spent every single first rounder we've had since the return on franchise qbs.

Got me!

(You do know I didn't want to draft a QB in the last draft, right? And that until we have a really good one we'll continue to struggle to beat truly shitty teams like the one we barely beat and mostly because of a bad call?)

QB's and WR's, QB's and WR's. If we'd just stop wasting our 1st-3rd round picks on the D we'd be 6-0 right now and have like 7 Superbowl wins.

You do know I'm right... right? Until we have a top 10 type of QB, we're spinning our wheels. We just beat a Charlie Whitehurst led team with no running backs and the 27th ranked pass defense... 6-3.

At home.

I love our defense and I love a lot of the players on it. I didn't want to draft a quarterback this year because I figured McCoy had earned a shot.

But if he isn't going to become great, and I REALLY struggle to see it, we have absolutely no choice but to move on and find someone who can. Because that's the league we play on.

We're actually light at THE prime position on both sides of the ball (QB and RDE).

I'd forgotten about this. Shep did not want us to draft a QB this year, and I know you wanted us to grab a stud receiver in free agency. What did you want us to draft? Was it a linebacker?

I either wanted Julio Jones at one... or both James Jones AND Greg Little. Or Randall Cobb, who I got really into late in the draft season.

If we didn't take Jones, I wanted a pass rusher. RDE is sort of the premier position in a 4-3, broadly speaking. The money spot, top pass rusher, etc. Strangely, I always had Sheard with the second round pick in ALL my Browns drafts.

Isn't the Missouri kid doing well? Aldon Smith?

EDIT: Yeah, he has 5.5 sacks for San Francisco.

No idea on the Missouri guy, haven't seen any of their games. We're weak at right end since we technically have two left ends, right? Or two guys who are better at playing on the left?

We all know, we need a top 10 QB yadda yadda yadda. Great. Awesome. The part i'm making fun of is it's the same story every year, you decree we GOTTA go offense in the first two rounds. This is the 3rd draft i'll have been a part of and it's the same thing, we need a 1st round QB or a 1st round WR. Or both. Or one in the 1st and the other in the 2nd. After three years of it I gotta laugh.

Although i'll be beating my head on the wall whenever PGL returns and starts parroting it in every thread too.

Actually and just a tip, Middle Linebacker is THE prime position on D. He's the one responsible for reading offenses, getting the D into position and calling the plays on the field. You could even say he's the QB of the D, it ALL comes down to his brain and ability.

Which would be one of the reasons I keep saying to move DQ to WLB and draft an extremely cerebral MLB in the draft, a guy who can quickly catch on and become a master at his job. It doesn't matter what you have at DE if the MLB is reading "run" on "pass" too often.

This means we can coast through the rest of the season and pick up those other two wins when it's convenient.
