CLE didn't play NE or GB on Sunday, they played SEA. What the effort or showing looked like yesterday has no baring on if they played X team or Y team. Sure, if CLE's O plays every Sunday like they did against SEA against top level teams in the league ms they likely lose (unless of course they control the clock 2:1 like they did against SEA). But did anyone think CLE was ready to play with the big boys anyway? Besides it's not like that game was like the CLE vs. BUF game a few years (CORRECTION meand YEARS, not WEEKS) ago where neither teams O or D was playing well. At least the D's of both teams were playing well. Of course that O of BALT which was humming a long sure looked like crap yesterday in losing to JAX with a rookie QB. Which simply goes to prove the saying of "any given Sunday" (or that case Monday). All that matters is W's and L's. There is no style point column. The O has a lot of work to do and needs to get much better for this team to have a better shot at beating top teams in the league. Last edited by Masters; 10-25-2011 at 10:32 AM. |

let them spin the tires all year long. If we sort through what works and doesn't work we'll have a leg up on this years draft and current personell(sp). Mangini wasn't building a perenial winner, i prefer to shore up our depth and talent this year and in the draft. Winning would be nice but shouldn't be expected.

I understand the concern with the team's play, especially the offense and special teams. However, don't get TOO caught up in style points. A win is a win. Quit fighting it and let it sink in that we're 3-3. Who knows? This might have been the type of win that sparks the team

Imagine if this young team with a new HC and an almost rookie QB was 1-4 right now, losing those close games? Things could start to turn ugly in the locker room and guys could start to pack it in. The WIN is more important than how they played. However that doesn't mean we have to kid ourselves into thinking that this is a team that's playing like it has a chance to beat the more difficult teams in the rest of it's schedule. the only game that does matter is next week. Here's hoping they take that win and build on it to play better next week against SF.

All I know is 3-3 is better than 1-5. Teams win games they should lose, and lose games they should win. I never once saw a team out there giving up. The defense was pumped the entire game and supported the offense. And vice-versa. But we need to play a whole lot better because right now we are not a tough out. Still our TOP against a team very stout against the run is pretty impressive. |
