Default Pundits Split on McCoy

Posted within one day of each other at the National Football Authority:

Cleveland Browns QB Colt McCoy Taking a Ton of Blame, But Issues Lie Beyond Him | National Football Authority

Cleveland Browns QB Colt McCoy’s Accuracy Issues Cannot be Overlooked Because of Intangibles | National Football Authority

I don't think either article is particularly insightful, but interesting to see such different takes on McCoy.

Well, we've got 10 more games to find out. (raises a glass) Here's hoping we gash San Fran on an early blitz with a side line go-route!

He's a young QB, less than a season's worth of starts under his belt. He's playing on a team that's in the midst of a true re-building process and learning his second NFL offense in two seasons. I think there's some blame you can place on Colt's shoulders, things that the coach should be working with Colt to correct and there's things that we have to realize are outside of Colt's realm of control. This is a team game, Colt's not going to make, or break, this team, we've learned that much. He's not crippling to the level of a DA/BQ type play.

We had a pretty good draft, and I'd like to start seeing some results.
Fans already looking to next year and I don't blame them.
I think we will have things to be excited about that we lacked last year and we have some real facepalm moments just like last year.
It's going to be tough.
We aren't Barking Hard for nothing.

Actually by the looks of the related links in the collumns, the may have planned to have these comparisons in opinion.

What's funny is, I think one of them is right and the other is wrong. I just don't think you can be sure of which one it is yet, and I agree you have 10 more games to find out.

There's a ton of posts throughout this site (I've done several) with this statement but this one tops them. Short and exact. The pundits have no clue and I wonder if the team knows exactly where they're headed. But the QB is the most visible and scrutinized position in the game so Colt will be the main man under the microscope until this team gets a true identity.

Bottom line is the split will remain and level heads will let it play out and then evaluate it at years end. The knee jerkers will continue to howl every time he has a bad game and continue to get overly excited when he has a good game.

It's called fandom. The media feeds the latter. The organization and coaches will take the high road, let it play out and go from there.
