Default How to draft a RB.

It seems our list of needs has grown by 1 more position.

How does this affect our drafting priorities this year?

Who looks to be leading the RB's in terms of NFL readiness?

Where do you all rank this in terms of needed positions?

I'd like to compare Hardesty to McGahee in terms of returning from an injury but i'm not seeing it.

How has Heckert fared in his RB prowness?

I think it's a bit premature for this. Hillis and Hardesty are both good backs. I don't thnk they can be classified as "injury prone" yet. Yeah it sucks they are both injured now, but I don't think we should be worried about drafting one just yet. If they both remain injured for most of the year. Then I might worry more.

premature, maybe?

but, it's got that odor about it. I'm not saying we need 2 rb's but we should be looking for at least 1.

I agree that it's starting to creep into my mind. But unless I am sure you won't have either Hillis or Hardesty next year, I wouldn't want to spend an early round draft pick on RB with our other needs.

I tend to agree hammer.

Almost everyone thinks the writing is on the wall where Hillis is concerned. Hammy's can take awhile to heal but there has been so much drama now over the contract issue that it may very well have left a bad taste either in Hillis' mouth or the FO's.

Hardesty can't seem to stay healthy and IMO isn't GREAT. He's good, but not great.

We need (translation: I want) a beast of an RB that is a long term answer.

We could have King Kong in the backfield and it wouldn't mean beans without a solid O-Line

That I agree with...........fix the O-line and let's not forget about Brandon Jackson. Little is being said about what impact not having him has done to the offensive scheme this year. This is the back they targeted in FA to team with Hillis. He has great hands and good speed and is ideal for this offense. Prior to this year he hadn't had a major injury throughout his NFL career.

He most likely will be one of our prime fits at RB next year.

Assuming he fully recovers from the toe injury that put him on injured reserve for the year. RBs who get that severe of a toe injury don't always fully recover and the injury tends to come back.
