Default 60 Yard Strike in the Wind

It may not have been quite 60 yards but it was close. He effortlessly threw that with the wind wreaking havoc, so I think we know that he can make those throws now.

We have been waiting for double routes all year and finally saw it. BTW, that call on Moore was horrible, he should have at least gotten the interference call.

Right before the throw to Little, Mora was talking about how it takes time for guys like McCoy and Bradford in their situations. It was nice to see a semblance of an offense for once, now let's see if they can keep this going. At half, Colt is 13-19 for a 152 yards and no picks or TD's with a 92 rating. Bradford is 8-15 for 96 yards 1 and 1 and a 67 rating.

Let's see who wins the Red River Rivalry.

Agree! As I said in chatbox, Colts throw is a thing of beauty, hopefully we don't find out later it was drawn up in the dirt. Also, been getting a chuckle out of Shurmur taking plays out of Dabs playbook to try to get something going. That being said, I am grateful he is TRYING to get something going, instead of doing nothing like he usually does.

We're playing against a HORRID defense, let's put this one in the W column.

I think that helped answer the question that, yes, when given the chance he CAN throw the deep ball.

Colt throws a 60 yarder? Come on man, everyone knows he just chucked it up his fathest of 20 feet then the wind carried it the rest of the way...Colt had a nice game, too bad Shurmur doesn't trust him more instead of trying to hand off to the blocking TE of all things inside the red zone.

As I said in the other thread.

Isn't it great Colt worked on his arm strength this week?

Or how about those new recievers?

wait what? none of that happened? what changed?

PLAYCALLING changed. enough that it opened other things up. Like many of us said it would.

also

was it jsut me? or was the playcalling in the first half better? then to start the 3rd it was back to the old stuff, until later when he started being creative again, until the last three downs?

the better throw though was the one to Watson. Split the defenders, placed where only Watson could go up and get it. and rifled.

Colt McCoy led an offense to zero TDs at home against a DREADFUL defense with a decimated secondary.

That pass, however, was the best deep ball I've EVER seen him throw. But let's not pretend we haven't discussed this a million times: He can go over the top, something you won't get a lot in the NFL. Charlie Frye could go over the top (remember Braylon's famous drop in the opener a few years back?). Jeff Garcia could go over the top.

I've written this a skajillion times here: Any D1 QB who gets drafted into the NFL can heave the ball over the top, given space, some 50-60 yards. All of them. So can Hillis.

What plagues a guy like McCoy is trying to drive the ball with velocity 20-30 yards from his release, into a tight, brief window. It's a hole in his game. He also struggles outside the hashes and, that very nice pass aside, anything over 20, period. I don't think he threw another over 10 from scrimmage. He also has a problem when the pocket is dirty or his set is less than ideal, like when he underthrew a screen pass because he had to do it all arm.

But after putting it in perspective: I WHOOOO'd in the chat room because it really was a very pretty pass, a long throw on time and on the money. I was happy to see it. And I think Little had a very nice game... as did Gocong and DQJ on the other side. Usama Young, too. Oh, and Taylor was "back."

Some bright spots after losing to a 1-7 team at home and failing to reach the end zone.

you mean like the tight spot he threw it to on the completion to watson??

oh and its hard to throw for touchdowns when your coach starts chocking on his balls in the redzone

I saw one one of those Turkey buzzards carry the ball the last 20 yeas then drop it to Little.
