I'd agree, Cam Newton is lightin it up for a rookie, but what 29 turnovers so far? and his QB rating was below 65 for teh past 3 weeks... maybe they got game tape

And i'd disagree. Sure if turnovers were like TD's he'd be lighting the joint up. Unfortunately turnovers don't suddenly turn into good things nor can they be ignored. Likewise costing your team games is actually a bad thing. I know listening to the media dangle from Scam's raisins you'd think it was the greatest thing on earth, it really isn't.

I think turnovers are seen as something that a young QB with elite talent will grow out of. Newton is also showing serious playmaking ability. Now if he's turning the ball over as much in year two, the questions become valid.

I'd look at total offense and points to judge a young QB. In spite of the gaffes, is he elevating the unit? That sounded a little more sexual than intended.

Right, you'll know in two years if Newton is a guy who can lead his team to victory, or is just another Derick Anderson.

And I think you have to look and see that BY causing all those turnovers and making his team give up points, he's making it so he HAS to make more plays, he has the opportunity to throw more, so his yards are inflated due to his own inability to keep the ball secure.

All true, G. When you watch Newton, you see the potential for serious greatness... but you also see the potential for a Randall Cunningham, a guy who made amazing plays and then broke your heart his entire career. Just not consistent enough to be counted among the greats.

Exactly. I saw an interview with a Chicago Bear last weekend and he looked focused, ready and confidently he said "We're just going to go out there and play hard, we're looking at this like it's a playoff game." Period, end of story, and you took it seriously. IF anyone on our team was to say that right now I wonder if I'd even take it seriously..

We had a pretty good draft, and I'd like to start seeing some results.
Fans already looking to next year and I don't blame them.
I think we will have things to be excited about that we lacked last year and we have some real facepalm moments just like last year.
It's going to be tough.
We aren't Barking Hard for nothing.
