How any Browns fan, and any Football fans who WATCH THE GAME can cast off Cribbs as easily as Shep does is absolutely mind blowing. IMO, he's the best WR we've had this season. He's a playmaker, it's in his blood plain and simple. Yet, he's not single handedly winning football games and thats the kind of player Shep likes, the player he can attach himself to so when they're hot he can say "I was rooting for that player before any of you." like some kind of Football Hipster.

Personal or not, I'm just sick and tired of reading that garbage in every single thread.

People, we need to stop making every point and every thread on this board about Brown Warrior. He has pretty much left the board and we are happy about that. It is plenty okay for other members of this board to discuss topics without everything centering around whatever Shepwrite thinks. We all know what he thinks----about everything----over and over and over----so let's try to get some decent football talk going and stop trying to change this guys mind---please.

Sorry, I just wanted to stick up for Cribbs and other players that get unfairly criticized. Believe it or not, I don't dislike Shep - I dislike his inability to admit he was unfair to someone he predicted bad things for. And when it comes to Colt McCoy, he's made "girly arm" the center of his thesis. And why? Because Alo spotted a jump ball or 2 and he loves to pull that out on us. I've seen Shep when he was content to be JUST a Browns' fan. Every once in a while I get subtle reminders of that like when he commented on D'Qwell Jackson's value or when he's beign honest about our missing gears on the perimeter. When he resorts back to pretending he needs to quit his day job because he got the QB class with Aaron Rodgers 50% right - I draw the line when he attacks Colt McCoy for EVERYTHING he wanted Alex Smith excused for over 6-7 years. And then McCoy is 18 starts old on playbook #2 and he doesn't deserve a couple years or a BETTER receiving corps? SF has 3 first round WRs - we have ZERO for very equivalent stats. The difference? SF's Defense hasn't allowed 1 rushing TD while they get turnovers on the opponet's side of the 50 and limit scoring to elite levels. Does anyone think McCoy would be doing less in SF than Alex this year?

BTW, what happened to the contingent that said Robert Quinn was going to be the 2011 difference maker this team needs if we go defense in round 1? The only one that admitted they overrated what he'd bring as a rookie was Solon so far. How many leads are we protecting that allow our dline to pin their ears back and rush the passer every play? About the same as St Louis? THAT is why I wanted JJ Watts-his-name if we went defense first. That said, Sheard has been pretty good for a rookie.

Great points Flugs. It will be great to move ahead and put Shep in the rear view mirror going forward and make this board about the guys who want to be here instead of "What is Shep saying now" 24/7.

There are a lot of other posts and posters here and now that Shep wants to stick with the OBR we are in good shape there. Anybody that wants to debate Shep can find him there and that will do wonders for this place.

You are 100% right, there are some super posters here who are very knowledgeable about NFL football. Debate is great and I might not agree with every ones opinion but I respect it. It's just the beating the dead horse that turns people away from posting.

The Browns' rookie HC and his staff have failed to understand Special Teams is 1/3 of the game. Dismal ST play arguably cost us the Oakland game, without question cost us the St Louis game and nearly cost us another game. Hopefully Shurms decides going forward he needs to put more emphasis on special teams during practice and next year our ST play can be one of the best again. The new HC and his philosophy has hurt Cribbs' play on almost as much as the rule change.

I've heard people mention we don't have anyone on the roster that scares opposing teams - when teams kick away from Cribbs time and again that means they have game planned to keep the ball out of his hands. And these same people think Cribbs is nothing special?

One other point - I watched the '9ners the last two games and it seemed on every kickoff Blake Costanzo was in on the tackle and was a difference maker, it is a shame the current staff couldn't find a roster spot for him. Blake is almost like the Steve Tasker of his generation.

I don't think the special teams is all on Shurmur. Heckert gets a heap of the blame there too. He cut all of our core ST guys in lieu of a bunch of young nobodies that will probably never amount to much. Can't stand coaches and personnel guys who don't value great ST players. Especially when your best football player is named Joshua Cribbs.
