#winning! This was payback for last weeks "calf gate". Deserved to win one of the last two, not lose both, or frankly not win both either. KNR callers talking up McCoy's toughness. It seems the entire fan base is in the same place about McCoy. We root for him, we want him to succeed, we're buying in more and more, and all agree he is damn tough. Come to think of it, name a tougher QB for the Browns? I sure hope he's the one. Little definitely looked better. 115 yards our of Oglethopeamazilli sure helped a ton. Norwood's flash excited everyone. The D was tough again today, btw.

Yeah, I'm a sucker for heart and McCoy seems to have it in spades. Listened to most of his post game presser and you just can't help but like the kid. Good game. Pluto called it "solid" which seems appropriate. (92 passer rating, btw) Trendline looks pretty damn good two weeks in a row. Jacksonville's defense was definiately a better test that St Louis (who were playing guys at CB from the semi-pro leagues). Tough stretch coming up. Hopefully (key word), we'll learn a lot more about Shurm's/McCoy/et al. |

I can't do this anymore. I'm a detriment to the board. McCoy can be tough, plucky, or whatever the hell else... and he's never, ever going to be a franchise quarterback or good enough to lead a team to a string of playoff births or a Super Bowl. I get that the general sense here (unlike most boards) is very patriotic toward McCoy, much like another board was to Frye, and I don't want to be the needle to that balloon. There's nothing wrong with hope and squinting until the kid looks great. It's a perfectly valid way to manage fandom. I'll politely leave you to it. I'd be the buzzkill and I just can't fake it. |

We won the damn football game today and our QB played pretty well. We'll fairly evaluate Colt (and everyone else on the damn roster) after the season is over. For this year.... Colt's our guy so we support the crap out of him. Its called being a fan. Its really that damn simple. If its only about a QB playing to some personal level of play you hold dear, why are you a fan? Sheesh. |

The main thing I have seen.. The Offensive line has started playing better the past 2 weeks.. Run blocking was much better today, Pass blocking and picking up the blitz. They should be expert on blitz pickups by now..but hey are not. They still have a good way to go..but that is kind of what I have been hoping for. It takes time for an offensive line to come together. .especially when you have 2 first year starters and essentially three new pieces on the OL.. That is why the teams that bring back intact lines for multiple seasons really are successful on offense (for the mostpart) McCoy had a better pocket and it has showed in his accuracy, completion %, and ability to allow some longer routes to develop. WR's actually have time to run routes when Colt is not getting pounded the second he snaps the ball, or having to run for his life right away. Let's hope for continued improvement..Things get a lot more serious with 5 division games coming up. Colt is again starting to show us the side of him that made us excited about him in the first place.. He had a pretty good game today. Couple dropped balls.. Just one REALLY terrible ball on the INT. Every QB has those once in a while.. He showed strength in the throws today due to the better pocket and time to really step into the throws. It makes a huge difference when there is not a guy in your chest when you throw. Playcalling was pretty good today on offense.. Not so much on defense. . We got Zero sacks and allowed Jax's rookie QB too much time and he had a good day against us. I noticed we did not blitz much.. because he's a rookie and we just wanted to play coverage? I'm not sure.. We dropped 2-3 int's that could have turned the game around. Run D was again subpar. I was nervous when we took the fieldgoal off the board..but it was the right call.. It bit us in the butt though.. fortunately did not cost us the game. Dawson was very releived when we won.. He got hosed... but that was an easy kick..he needs to take any doubt out of kicks like those. Ogbonnaya had some holes and showed he is starting to pick up the offense a little better. He was in a tough spot coming in off the street. He actually had some holes to hit today..but more than anything he showed less hesitation..which is likely due to his getting more comfortable in the system..He does not need to think about it so much. Decent game today overall.. Happy to have another win.
