Nov. 27, 2011 6:12 p.m. - by Marty Gitlin - McCoy tried to throw ball away on INT
QB Colt McCoy on his INT early in the fourth quarter: "I thought I had protection in front of me, but I got the wind knocked out of me (by DT Geno Atkins). I didn't have anybody downfield. I was trying to throw the ball away."

I swore this team would not allow that to happen again.
Not to pick on you..but that's really funny. (bold print) A team does not ALLOW that to happen. That's on the player, not the team. Either a player learns to catch or he doesn't.. a team does not allow a player or somehow coach a player to have the dropsies. He was not known as a dropsie guy in college. it's luck of the draft.. or lack of luck.. Let's hope it's not chronic.

I'm frustrated too. He had a whole seasons worth of drops today.

Ummm...I think what Rif meant was that the team wouldn't keep someone who consistently has issues that he believes are not just a learning/rookie issue. Like we did with BE.

That IS on the coaching staff. 100%

My problem is that it's not just they are keeping him, but it still seems Shumur wants to make him the focal point of the offense and the first read most times. Am I wrong? Wtf is with that? Jordan Norwoood catches everything thrown his way and gets better separation. and yet he's trotted in and out for abotu 1/3 of the plays and yet Gregg Little is out there almost every snap. Why? because he's fast and looks great in shorts in practice? Because they keep hoping he'll break those 3 yard passes into 80 yard TD's with YAC? Guess what, he hasn't done it yet.

Sounds like they are trying to force Little to become a #1 when he may not have the talent.

Is it because McCoy is chicken shit and doesn't trust his popgun arm? I guess its a possibility.

Is it because his primary read is RARELY ever open enough to justify taking a shot? Seems like a reasonable possibility too.

I just can't seem to get over how utterly talentless this roster seems to be. Compounding issues for me is the FO's apparent lack of concern over this issue and forcing me (a paying customer) to waste my time and money on this product.

This shit better result in a playoff berth next year. I'm not seeing ANY method to this madness.
This, this, this and a thousand time: THIS.

I am slowly but inexorably going back to my pre-2007 draft days of Browns-fandom, i.e, embarrassed, half-hearted, semi-interest.

And the reason is that the utter lack of leadership in this organization is painful.

I will say we have some glimmers of hope in Heckert but I have ZERO faith in Shurmur and since apparently Holmgren chose Shurmur, I have ZERO faith in Holmgren by extension.

A big-time QB would certainly help my attitude.
