Solon, great perspective. You are 100% right that a complete-team performance and a win or two against PIT and BAL would help morale immensely. (Mine, that is, if not the team's.) A statement win is really what we need to see this year. We got two last year with a much older, slower roster. My pessimism this year is based on how BAD we've looked and how LITTLE progress we've seen. Some progress and especially a win is nearly a must for this season not to be a total failure. |

How many times are you willing to keep throwing players aside without letting them fully develop? I'd love to know if McCoy is the answer before we get someone else. Constant change without direction is why we are where we are know. Give me the BPA at WR, DE, RT and OLB or two. Throw in a need to upgrade FS, G and RB to go along with needed almost everywhere................did I miss anything? The problems here are more then needing to upgrade at QB. As I listen I seem to be hearing that It has to be Holmgren, Heckert and Shurmur's fault they haven't turned this gigantic mess around in less then two years. Hell, any FO who inherits a team with no QB, half a OL, no featured WR, a old and very slow DL and LB crew with little support behind them should be able to turn the franchise around and have them winning in a year. Sorry, I'm not for changing QBs unless they feel Colt isn't and won't be the guy. I think that is a long way from being decided. |

[QUOTE=YtownBacker;154542]Even if one drops then you don't have the pick to get the WR so you get a rookie QB learning on the run with no weapons. Sounds familiar. QUOTE] Agreed, only saying you take Luck/Barkley if there because I believe they are an upgrade over McCoy, the other QB's in the draft are as much a crap shoot as McCoy developing. Also, I'm not convinced the speed WR we need is going to be there at pick 1a, I think we can get that speed WR at pick 1b or possibly round 2. Meaning we take that DE we need at 1a, or possibly a LB if one is there. The alabama RB if Hillis is not signed. |

This season has been a disaster so far. There has not been the fluidity on offense I expected, and that has placed too much pressure on a young, overmatched defense. We make mistakes by the bushel on offense every game and it compounds the problems of being young. That certainly goes straight to the head coach's office. While his offense is a lot better than Daboll, it isn't lights years better like I expected. It is a shame because these WR's should be performing a lot better, especially Cribbs, who they can't seem to get the ball to consistently. But losing for draft picks is a losing game all around. If we were good 3 years ago I could see the flopping for picks, but we have sucked for far too long and most importantly we need to learn how to win. We need to learn how to close out a half, close out a game, and beat good teams. This is exactly the time we cannot afford to flop for picks in the draft. |

i just look at von miller and aj green and how they're doing this year and think, man, if we hadn't won a couple of meaningless games last year, we could have gotten a much better player in the first round. nothing against phil taylor–i actually think he's quite good, but those guys are difference makers. the way green went up for two of his catches in the last game was awe-inspiring. |

I get that part too...I really do. But Pitt, NE, Indy (until this year) and a few others ALWAYS draft in the same place too. So how come they are so successful when drafting after us? |
