Because it's common sense.

Look I get where you are coming from and I said in that other thread. I am NOT looking for Holmgren to leave or fire anybody yet. But I am allowed to show my disgust with how they are acting right now and for the product on the field they are forcing me to watch.

Guys, great work in here. Hope somebody in the league has some sense enough to read these posts.

Adding to the common sense theme here:

If concussions really are a concern for the league, then why wouldn't players involved in a hit to the head get IMMEDIATELY ejected?

Or, if that's too much, too soon, at minimum, both players involved should be held out for an equal length of time. Let's say a mandatory 10 minutes, game time.

So Harrison wants to take guys' heads off and he won't stop? Then however long his victim goes out, he goes out. If his victim misses games, he misses games. Fined or not, I guaran-damn-tee you that if the hitters had to miss equal time to the hittees, this shit would get cleaned up real quick.

If the League is serious about eliminating shots to the head, this would be as simple and common sense as you could make it. Again, we're not talking about accidental hits here; we're talking about OBVIOUS and INTENTIONAL use of the helmet to hit another player in the helmet.

It's either against the rules or it's not, it either matters or it doesn't and the Browns handling of McCoy, though not unique, I'm sure, indicates the true level of seriousness with which these hits are being regarded.

THANK YOU DAMA! I was just thinking of this the other day. I was watching a hockey game, knee on knee hit, the guy got a game misconduct IMMEDIATELY. The knee on knee hits have ruined careers and the league has a zero tolerance against those types of hits and is in the legitimate process of being JUST as strict with blatant shoulder-to-head hits (especially if the skater w/ the puck has his head down...) players are being made to be more accountable for their actions. It's nothing like the NFL where you can basically do whatever you want and all you'll get is fined money, BIG penalty there.

The NFL NEEDS to be more strict and I think immediate injections for helmet-to-helmet hits sends a message, the right message, ZERO tolerance.

We had a pretty good draft, and I'd like to start seeing some results.
Fans already looking to next year and I don't blame them.
I think we will have things to be excited about that we lacked last year and we have some real facepalm moments just like last year.
It's going to be tough.
We aren't Barking Hard for nothing.

LOL juki and EE...I was thinking along those lines as well. Suspensions, fines...yep that's all good. But if someone knocks a player out with a concussion, then they need to be out too. You could waive the suspension as "time served", or you could make them serve one anyway depending on the severity of the hit.

It can be done. If the league and officials have time to review every freaking scoring play, they can do this too.

If you knock a guy out of a game like dicknuts for the Puke does, you should miss the same amount of time as said player you took out and be immediately ejected. No ifs, ands or buts, you are gone regardless if the player comes back that game like Colt and you still have another mandatory game to serve or more depending on how many games the guy you took out misses.

Problem solved right then and there, cuz even a piece of shit like Roid Monk would knock that shit off in a heartbeat.

Extreme? Yes, but if they really want to fix this stuff instead of slaps on the wrist and letting fans and owners pay the fines, nothing will change. Another thing, once you get on the concussion train you are much more prone to them and it basically affects the rest of your career on one hit from an asshole like Roid Monk. He even has had a lot to do with NoMass not developing into a reliable route runner cuz he is scared shitless now in traffic and never fights for the ball.

There are many ramifications to the hittee and the hitter is not paying the price with the current set up. Of course, as I predicted Roid Monk is running his mouth right now like he did no wrong once again. Three of our best players on offense he has taken out in the last two trips to the Big Ketchup. That is ridiculous, and he gets a week off this week for all that cuz I assure any fines he has had were covered for him.
