Should Little be converted back to Running Back ? As he is more natural as running back ?

Tob, great posts, I mentioned in another thread how Greg Little has only been ballin at WR for TWO years now, don't look into his "off" year as an indication, that's a year missed of on-field experience that he is currently experiencing now in his rookie NFL season. There's a lot of things Greg Little is learning on the fly when he needs to be coached up a little bit. There are fundamentals at play here and I don't know how calibrated he is. He's got physical tools but he's got to learn how to put it together.

Colt just needs some tools, I asked twitter this and I ask you. What if Colt had the Charlie Frye offense? What if he had some potential offensive weapons like Braylon/KWJr, honestly you cant deny that 1) Colt is a superior QB (this is my opinion) and 2) The offenses from these years had more firepower than this current team. That's undeniable IMO. I think Colt will look a lot better with a legitimate target.

We had a pretty good draft, and I'd like to start seeing some results.
Fans already looking to next year and I don't blame them.
I think we will have things to be excited about that we lacked last year and we have some real facepalm moments just like last year.
It's going to be tough.

Nice post EE. I think most of us understand the Little situation and all of that is fine. He's got a wide learning curve and time and practice will only help. I'd just like to see someone light a little fire in him. As I said before, when we're in the red zone sit his butt down and when he wants to know why just tell him when he shows his QB and his team that he can catch on a consistent basis he'll get his chance. Let him stew a bit and see if that helps get his juices flowing. I'm high on him and looking forward to his improvement next year. And another thing about the receivers. I've heard the tales of Manning and Brees throwing thousands of passes to their guys during and after practice so their everything is second nature to them. I don't get practice info for us but if it's not happening why not? Gotta put in the time if you want to rise to the top. If it is happening then that's another in a long list of things that need to improve.

Thanks guys.
If I'm mistaken I apologize, I thought Little only had his junior season as a full time reciever and spent his freshman and sophomore seasons ala Eric Metcalf, running back most of the time, lining up as the #3 wr every few plays.

Haven't seen him close to breaking a tackle this year so I don't know how that would work out. Besides I would want him to wait in line behind Cribbs if we are converting anyone.

I've wanted to see Cribbs back there, even part time to create mismatches, for years. If a guy is good enough to line up in the wildcat and be successful then I can't see why someone wouldn't think he could be a good 3rd down back at least.

I'd take Cribbs in blitz pickup ahead of anyone on our team too.

After all these years, they still haven't lined cribbs up in the eye and handed off to him, yet did already with little. He has a sense of entitlement and that needs to stop.

This is an uncomfortable dejavue of Butch Davis explaining hard work and productivity earns playing time while Gerrard Warren keeps walking out to the field to walk through plays after a week-long of loafing in practice. Not saying Little is loafing but when the main responsibility of the job is CATCHING the damn ball, there's a Parcells way of handling pompous young WRs that can lead to a rookie of the year or Pro Bowl (Terry Glenn anyone?). Little needs a cleat up his dumpster or at least fanny splinters for dropping the ball all the time.

Josh Cribbs was FINALLY looking like he overcame not play WR as a freshman, soph, junior and senior in college. Unfortunately, Little was granted special favors and favoritism because HECKERT chose Little and Shurmur is on "yes sir" or "yes dear" status at the moment of rookie Head Coaching gig. TODAY, they should sit Little at the very first drop and play Cribbs. I think they'd be pleasantly surprised he's STILL the guy we want getting the ball in space.

I agree completely Flugs, Cribbs is above and beyond our best WR right now.

McCoy is not the answer at QB, he was a developmental project at best, they rushed him when there was no need too, which hindered his development, and has resulted in him being a casualty of his own poor play. Cribbs is not the teams best WR, he has been the teams most consistent play-maker. The Browns have just not done enough to get the ball in Cribbs hands. I think Little will really take that next step this year, I just don't see progress in the offense, or in his development, with McCoy at QB.

I am curious enough to see what McCoy will look like with an actual offseason program. OTA's, Mini Camps, Training Camps... you know.. time to actually work with the coaches on the offense in the offseason, time to get to know his recievers..BEFORE the season actually starts.. I think we will know by game 6.. He gets some rope due to the new coach/no offseason of last yearr.. but not a whole lot.. It's time to produce.. .. Provided ....They actually provide some blocking ,a running game that's not a 4th stringer off the street, and some guys who can catch the ball.. That's a lot of things that need to change..

If they don't give him blocking, a run game or WR's.. then they are again setting him up to fail.
