Jags, Redskins and Dolphins might want RGIII and willing to trade with the Browns, we drop, we get the DE or RB or LB we want, assuming Blackmon is gone... hopefully picking up a 2nd Even if Blackmon is there, we might make the deal. I'm not sure how much better Blackmon is vs the other WR we can get with the Atlanta pick. Last edited by DieselPusher; 12-25-2011 at 11:51 AM. |

I gotta disagree that a RB iscannot be a primary playmaker in today's NFL. The 49ers are 30th in passes thrown this year.. Gore is the offense He's just one of many RB's who are primary playmakers in the NFL.. AFC.. look at Houston (Arian Foster) and Balt. ( Ray Rice).. that's just three of many great playmakers and gamechangers at RB. Get Blackmon in here if by some miracle St. Louis passes on him.. and re-sign Hillis.

Luck will suck with the same crappy team around him.. That is what needs fixed. He's majorly over-hyped right now.. See Sam Bradford, Jamarcus Russell, and Brady Quinn for reference on the over-hyped QB. They all look amazingly human right now. Besides. Luck will not get by the Colts with the #1 pick and the cost to move to #1 is much too costly.. especially when we have 7-9 gaping holes on this team.. in no particular order of need: G, RT, 2 WR's, 2 LB's, DE, S, CB and possibly RB which would make 10 holes... then if you think QB that makes 11 holes.

p.s. I was in agreement with this "statement" previously.... Never again! We need a top tier QB! Last edited by Solon16; 12-26-2011 at 12:04 AM. |

Comparing Peyton Manning who is experianced vet and already knows about reading defene and what to do when a play breaks down is an entirely different animal then a rookie QB who is going to just get thrown into the fire. A veteran QB has a very different awareness of the game around him then a rookie. I am not against drafting a rookie QB ... I am however against drafting one this year before we at get decent pieces for a kid to wok with. The only exception is if we get eveything we need via free agency, but that isn't realistic as we have a good amount of holes to fill. |

Talk was that the Luck pick was worth 3 1st rounders, so that means RGIII will be worth at least a 1st and 2 2nds, or a 1st this and next year...who knows. Our pick will be the pick for the RGIII sweepsteaks as we are the first team that MIGHT take him....another reason for the "lack of support" verbalized for Colt out of Berea. At any rate, there are a lot of guys in this draft that can start day one that fill needs for the Browns, in no particular order: Claiborne/Kirkpatrick, CB Coples, DE one of the OT's Kuechly, ILB DeCastro, G and we still have the second 1st rounder to pick up a guy like Floyd, WR Brown, OLB Wright, WR Miller, RB Hightower, ILB In other words, this draft seems to be pretty deep on some needs, and just because we don't get Blackmon (which I still think we might), doesn't mean there aren't good options.
