I know you guys on here aren't sheep. I know some of you supported Mangini and were blasted for it when you MAY have been correct. Lets remember this little fact: I find it hard to see how there can be accountablity. Lets start asking tough question to the Browns like why is Bob Lamonte somehow involved with every level of the organization. BTW if you want to know who will be the OC next year look no futher than this: http://psr-inc.net/bio_Coach_MarkWhipple.html (Lamonte's Agency) Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays While Mike Holmgren, president of the Cleveland Browns, will make the final decision regarding the franchise's vacant head coaching position, agent Bob LaMonte holds most of the cards as the team goes in a new direction. Although his name has been mentioned predominantly in passing throughout the process, LaMonte's importance cannot be underestimated regarding the future of the Browns. LaMonte represents Holmgren. The two have built a 30-year relationship relying heavily upon each others' guidance. LaMonte also represents Tom Heckert, the Browns' general manager; Bill Wiedmeier; the team's executive vice president; and Gil Haskell, a senior adviser to Holmgren in the team's front office. Pat Shurmur, another client, appears to be the front-runner for the vacancy and could be named the Browns coach as early as today or Friday. http://weirtondailytimes.com/p...n.html?nav=5014 |

| When Browns owner Randy Lerner gave Holmgren a five-year contract for a reported $50 million, he essentially paid LaMonte to own his team. They might be called the Cleveland Browns on the field, but the Cleveland “LaMontes” might be their real name. No one will gain or maintain employment with the Browns unless they come with the blessing and representation of LaMonte. Besides his takeover of the Browns, LaMonte’s ability to secure the single worst deal in the history of contracts for Charlie Weis at Notre Dame is reason alone to be named Man of the Year. http://www.nationalfootballpost.com/...b-LaMonte.html |

Well what our new member(welcome btw) is pointing out is that we're part of a good ole boys network. Holmgren and his inept little drinking buddies are all represented by his other drinking buddy Bob Lamonte. It's true though, if you're not Holmgren's drinking buddy AND a Lamonte client you won't be working for the Obese Show. |

![]() You know my thoughts on this regime though and that I have felt for a while that a lot of these guys got jobs because they all know each other in some form.

One of the advantages of having the same agent as Holmgren is back room dealings. This is a good way to avoid tampering with other coaches. For example if Holmgren wanted an offensive coordinator, but the guy he wants won't be available till the following year, he can have his agent confirm the future OC's intention, get the deal agreed upon in basics, and let his rookie HC double as the OC for one year. |

Would Ozzy be GM for the Ravens if he was not Modell's boy from way back.... Would either of the Ryan brothers have jobs if not for Daddy Ryan.. come on guys.. get real. This is how it's always been.. how it will always be.. I never even give this a second thought.. I just consider it standard formula.
