LMAO! I'm a big fan of nicknames. Great job with that Choco!

Cromwell was a former DB that used to also hold for place kicks. The GOOD news is somebody that made a living covering WRs might be able slam dunk the message we don't have anyone to cover right now. If he accomplishes THAT much, he's worth his keep.

The Browns have hired Tim Hauck as their new defensive backs coach, a league source said Monday. The team has confirmed the addition of Hauck.

Hauck, who served as an assistant secondary coach for the Tennessee Titans from 2009-10, replaces Jerome Henderson, whom the Dallas Cowboys hired two weeks ago to fill the same role for their organization.

Hauck, 45, will face the challenge of trying to ensure the secondary continues to improve despite the departure of Henderson, who served as the Browns’ defensive backs coach during the past three seasons. The Browns’ defense ranked second against the pass (184.9 yards allowed per game) during the 2011 regular season. It finished 18th (220.7 yards allowed per game) and 29th (244.7 yards allowed per game) against the pass in 2010 and 2009, respectively.

Hauck got his first coaching job in the NFL when he joined the Titans. During a span of five seasons, he was a defensive assistant at UCLA and the University of Montana before being hired by former Titans coach Jeff Fisher.

Hauck was a safety in the NFL for 13 years (1990-2002). He played for the Green Bay Packers for four seasons, including three in which President Mike Holmgren was the coach. Browns defensive coordinator Dick Jauron was Hauck’s defensive backs coach in Green Bay.

I wonder why Jerome didn't want to work here anymore.

Based on the quotes I saw from Henderson, he wanted to work with his friend Ryan and other guys he worked with. The question of why did DAL hire him could be possed? Because here is an example of another guy, Ryan, hiring his buddies. This stuff goes on all over the NFL, MLB, NBA, and other business that aren't sporting teams. People tend to want to hire people they are familiar with, trust, and have a relationship with. Just as people want to work for people they have a relationship with, trust, and are familiar with.

I don't think any of us are dumb enough to believe it's just a Cleveland thing. That being said, I doubt any of us are dumb enough to believe any agent who works with the NFL has more influence over said team than Lamonte does over the Browns. It's not even close.
