As some of us predicted, it appears Jim Tressel is the frontrunner to be the new head coach of the Colts. He just got done having his second interview with Irsay.

He wanted to be with the Browns in the worst way, coming to TC last year and stating his case. Holmgren would hear none of it, after all he already had the prolific Shurmur in place, a guy who isn't qualified to hold coach Tressels jock strap.

We just missed out on one of the greatest college football coaches of all time, a great leader, a great mind, a great man.

Holmgren & Co. loathe all things having to do with the history of Ohio, (as has been confirmed by multiple Browns vets) otherwise they would have found a way to get Tressel on staff, much like the far more intelligent Colts FO did.

I hate this. Truly. It sickens me, and it's tough for me to stomach and for the first time in my life tough to want to be a fan watching what is happening to my beloved Browns.

This season we could have hired Tressel or Chud, two guys that bleed brown & orange & have more football IQ in their pinky toe than Shurmur has in his entire being.

A lot of people dislike Tressel and even more so with the whole Terrelle Pryor shit.

That being said, I love the guy. I think he's a fantastic coach and who knows if he'll do well in the NFL but I'd gladly give him the chance. I'll let this next season unfold and see what our FO/coaches are really made of but man... what could have been!

GHC. God Hates Cleveland.

Can you please get us a link about how Tressel came begging for a job in Cleveland and was turned away by Holmgren. I would be really interested in reading where you got that from.

The hate you have for this FO is is duly noted but spewing this about there loathing for anything Cleveland is over the top. I'd love to see where you get some of these outlandish ideas from.

C'mon man you are better then that.

Hey that would be great news, he loves the Cleveland Browns and thinks the punt is the most important play in football. Well, we have one of the best. So in his attempt to improve his favorite team and improve his field position battle. He trades the #1 pick and rights to Andrew Luck for our punter....

Did some Google surfing and Colt fans are going nuts. First the Polians, then hiring a inexperienced GM, tweeting with Rob Lowe and now this with Tressel.

They are becoming a joke. Irsay is trying to be a Jerry Jones Al Davis type of owner. He likes to see his name in print and wants to be considered a maverick. They asked GM Grigs and he said he didn't know that Irsay went to talk to Tressel or about is was about. He said he was he has been scheduling and interviewing HCs.

*Points and laughs at... Oh.....*

*Looks at the Browns*

*Sighs*

Even drunken idiots on Twitter making jokes about Rob Lowe sucking dicks are able to outsmart Lerner and his handpicked dumbass Mike. Now i'm not saying the sweatervest wearing beta male will be this great HC in the NFL Bucks fans envision but i'd almost guarantee he has more success at it and goes further than Pat Shurmur in the NFL.

All i'll say Gabe is it's a pretty sad state of affairs when we can pay 50-70 year old never was beens seven figure contracts to practice their golf swings in Berea and "consult" with Mike "Don't worry Seattle i'm coming home soon" Holmgren whenever he gets homesick yet we couldn't possibly find a role for a pretty intelligent football guy whose goal in life was to work for the Cleveland Browns and help them win championships.

Hey at least we learned from that massive fuck up, we got Nolan Cromwell off the unemployment line and back to work with the Cleveland Seahawks. You can never have enough yes men consultants on a team you know.

Colt's fans in the blogs are reeling at the thought of Tressel coming to Indi saying he will set them back 5 years. I think the guy has been a pretty good coach.. How he makes it in the NFL is anyones guess. Plenty of amazing college coaches have been swallowed alive by the NFL. I think he would have been a decent OC here..but there are plenty of guys who are capable of doing that job. It's not rocket science. It's just football after all Block, run, throw, catch.. But most of all...Block. If you can excell at blocking; Then running, throwing, and route running/catching becomes so so so much easier.

Why not find some guy who is system compatible and go from there.

We need somebody that can see the field better than Shurmur did last year from up above.

Now if Jim Harbaugh stated in an interview that he useds Linday Infante's system, I resad it hard copy on my magazine BUT he stated the offense employs several WCO flavors. That being the case, why not get Bernie Kosar over here in such a capacity.

I read what a wonderful business leader Randy Lerner is all the while we have lost CONNECTIONS with our historical players/vets that established the proud traditions Randy's remaining customers have clung to.

What's the harm with inviting the orchestrator of Lindy Infante's version of the WCO back to Cleveland with an ability to coach up a QB with imperfections? What was Bernie's best trait? Quick release release and audible out of trouble. That usually means he was well prepared like Heckert says McCoy is. Maybe Bernie will teach him better and give him the green light to audible that Shurmur did not.

I like Tressel and all; but what's up with our new brass looking down their noses at Bernie Kosar in lieu of tossign 6-7 figures at Nolan Cromwell and Gil Haskell? Can anyone tell me what Haskell has accomplished here yet?

I say bring in a Bernie Kosar that would, GET THIS, want to be in Cleveland like it's the best place on the planet.

We'll see but so far the word is no, he will not be the next HC.

There was a report the Indianapolis Colts are at least considering disgraced former Ohio State coach Jim Tressel as head coach, who is on the Indianapolis staff as a gameday consultant. I checked with a Colts source and he said this: "No way in hell."

But this is the interesting part. The source explained that owner Jim Irsay likes Tressel and does want him to have some sort of role in the organization (a new head coach will have some say in that of course).

Seriously dude you can't just make this stuff up. Tressel wanted to be here in the worst way? Holmgren chased him out of town?

Credibility - you're doing it wrong. Epic fail.
