In Hillis' and his agent's eyes, he is a Top RB in the league. Is this true? I don't know and I don't think anyone can say he is or isn't based on 1 year of great stats and another year of injury.
I think Hillis' and his agent know that the shelf life of RB's on most NFL teams is not long. It's also fairly easy to reload at RB than many positions on both sides of the ball. Hell, the Patriots use 3 - 4 different guys ranging from a 30 some year old veteran in Kevin Faulk to a 1st year rookie in Steven Ridley to spearhead their running attack. Sometimes they don't even use them at all, like we saw against the Broncos in the Divisional Round and Hernandez, a TE, got a majority of the carries.
Anyway back to my point... Hillis isn't going to take a new contract for a team that asks him to move to fullback. I don't see it happening and I've read a few times that he is going to be testing FA anyway. The chances of him being a Brown next year I think are slim to none.
