Default Full Backs

Any good full back in draft or free agents as no one seems to talk about Full Backs. Do we need one ?

I do not understand why teams draft fullbacks this day in age. Even if you end up with a great blocker like Leach, or Vickers, I still wouldn't draft a fullback. I bet you can find an undrafted rookie that would develop into a Vickers or Leach type player. I was actually disappointed that we ended up drafting a FB, still don't understand that pick At least we aren't the NY Jets.....................not yet at least

Bahahahahahahahahaha! That video! OMG! Priceless NY reactions!

Especially that guy, who after the Jets took Ken O'Brien over Marino, tried to play it off like he wasn't pissed!

Clutts was better than Marecic, and Owen looks like a concussion machine like his fellow Stanford cohort Eva Moorecelain Doll.

What is up with these smart guys getting concussed when someone plays with their asses a little bit? Is it a bigger brain thing?

Still upset we let our FB Vickers go to Houston.. where he led a couple really good backs this year while everyone here struggled.. I will give Marecik another year..but he better stand tall. he was bad this year. bad bad bad.. I would have no issues bringing in some real competition for him.. I agree on drafting FB's unless the guy is a Hillis type.. but blockers.. NO

Again...we had a good fullback in Vickers....but the so-called genius thought we needed a better one. Major fail on that decision.

Vickers played less than 50 percent of the snaps his last year here I believe. It was smart not to resign him, but stupid to waste a fourth rounder on his replacement. If you are going to save money and resources on an FB, don't take one in the fourth. They could have had Clutts for free, and he ended starting for Chicago and had a way better year then Vick or Owen.

It was obvious to everyone but the FO that Clutts was miles ahead of Marecic during the preseason. Of course they hoped their 4th rounder would improve by leaps & bounds and become better than Clutts ...but he didn't and IMO won't. He doesn't look like an NFL player to me, unless he somehow steps it up on ST or something, although he seems too slow for that. Unless he roids up and leaves his former self in the dust in almost every way ...I'd cut him and call it a miss. Get a FA or UDFA who can really block has a bit of speed and some hands.

Mikey P.. I said that in another thread.. .. resign Hillis and make him a ball carrying, pass catching Fullback ala Kevin Mack or a Tom Rathman, and draft a RB would be a nasty Combo.. Not sure Hillis would be up for that unless we still paid him like a tailback. But it would be great.. Doubt that would happen personally
