Anyone else think it would be funny to hear "Taps" play over the loudspeaker every time the O took the field?

LOL.

While I'll take chilly calling plays all day over shurmur, I wonder if we would have been better off trading for/ hiring Peyton Manning. I know he's up there in age, but does anyone remember what happened when Michael Jordan injured his knee in like 87-89ish or so and we were all told he was done? 6. Titles. Manning is in another world, and I'd rather run his offense than Childress or Shurmurs.

And yet McNabb and Westbrook tripped all over themselves talking about how good Chilly was and how good a team him and Shurmur will make.

But, what do they know. McNabb only contributed much of his success to working with Chilly.

Well if you ask Mike Shanahan and his son, McNabb isn't very bright to begin with so not sure he's the best one to make that judgement.........

Sounds like sour grapes or a bit of bias. All the sudden we embrace a guy like Heath Evans because he says what we want to hear but McNabb and Westbrook are idiots because they say something we don't want to hear of believe.

I guess Andy Reid must be a complete idiot because he said shows a lot of love for Chilly, Shurmur, Heckert and Holmgren. Hell, that's 4 strikes on this site.

Then again, it's all about what you want to hear and what you want to believe. Really doesn't matter who is saying it because you can find good and bad written about almost anyone in this day and age of social media......................the good thing is everyone is entitled to their opinions.

Agreed some people can believe in EVERY front office. EVERY TIME. And alwys defend them and ALWAYS find ways to twist things to look postively on who ever is currently in charge. They can just have total faith in every person ever hired to run the Browns and not question anything.

Me I chose to have my own opinions. McNabb is a nice guy. But not a bright one. I never called Westbrook an idiot. Only Mcnabb.

And gee now there's a thread saying there might be interest in us signing McNabb? You think that had ANYTHING to do with his glowing praise for Chilly and Shurmur? Nah everything everyone does is sincere.

You'll notice in the Evans thread I said you have to take it with a grain of salt because he likley has an agenda?

The difference? I can analyze it even with knowing he has that agenda. while Others want to just believe the company line.

Sorry I can't be that way anymore.

Kind of agreeing with Golf on this stuff. Some of us are done with the blind faith, and I think the backlash this year did help in getting these guys a little more in tune with what we are expecting around here.

Most of us who have been posting together for years have had great faith in each regime, only to be greatly let down. I don't think that not having blind faith right now is a bad thing, and I do see some positives going forward, but they better get this offseason right Y, or we are going to be in a dire situation again.

Heath Evans.. another mediocre talking head looking to make a splash by being contrversial. Maybe his sportscaster career is going the same direction as his football career (down) so he thinks being controversial may get him some interest in the overly saturated talking head market.

It's not about a company line, it's about being objective and I don't see that in your posts anymore. I'm just asking that you look at both sides. For every anti organization article that gets a lot of play here there are many more flattering articles that some of us would like to point out to be fair. I'm not just talking Holmgren because any reasonable person can read his coaching resume and realize he knows football. Has he done it here as an administrator, no not yet, but I hope he does and think he deserves a fair shot. thus, I will defend him until he proves he can't get it done, like I have done to others that were here.

Sorry, but I can't piss on a guy because others before him didn't get the job done. Stupid stuff like who a guy's agent is or if he brought in someone from his tree are the things some of us with who want to believe are willing to debate.

It doesn't mean we believe in everything that the team does but I personally am willing to acknowledge that they have experience, knowledge and a better insight then any blogger here. So, I choose to believe they are the ones to raise the sinking ship until they fail.

I hope this FO succeeds and all you guys can stop being so pessimistic and jump back on the bandwagon instead of pissing on the tires as it drives by.

Y- town, Youre the man, but this is the biggest bullshit line. Of course these guys have more experience etc. than bloggers here. But none of us own a football team, nor manage one. So when we say these guys suck, we arent comparing them to how we run our own NFL team - we are comparing them to the other 31 franchises that seem to be ahead of us in terms of the Front Office and how that successs translates to success on the field on Sundays.

Its like telling a woman the WNBA sucks, and she comes back with the tired "they could kick your ass all over the court.". Well, no shit Sherlock, but they don't last a single quarter against the Clippers, or even the Cavs.

We want our team to do well.
