Default Why do they have the Pro Bowl?

Every year I see these guys go out and stink up the field, playing less than half-hearted. I say it's time to cancel the Pro Bowl, or give some meaning. Like I posted in another forum, the winning conference of the Pro Bowl should have the right to play on their home turf in the Super Bowl the following year. Whoever represents the conference that won the Pro Bowl in the Super Bowl, should play in their own stadium. These players are competitors, they need to give them something to compete for.

I just don't see the point of playing a game that is meant to be competitive , and full of contact, half-hearted. I know the reasons they play like this, because they don't want to get hurt. But they can get hurt in ANY game they play, and the players know the risks of playing Professional Football. What, the owners of their teams don't want them to get hurt? You know damn well that if football had a place in the Olympics like basketball does, alot of star players would be there playing for the USA. I know the Olympics ,and the Pro Bowl, are two different balls of wax, but they are still playing for a team that they didn't sign a contract to play for. So it's ok for them to go risk injury playing for the Olympic team, but not playing in a league game.

Because it's fun and a blast to watch. That was one of the best games I watched this season, good times. I especially enjoyed the crowd booing "supamayne" as he threw his way to his team getting humiliated... Against defense that wasn't even trying.

I don't get why people get so upset about the Pro Bowl, it's a bunch of guys messing around and generally having fun. No smack talking, no gang symbols being dropped on the field and no referees effecting the outcome of the game and throwing it for one of Goodell's buddies teams. In my opinion the Pro Bowl is more entertaining than the "Super" Bowl.

Don't forget this is will be only opportunity for NFL players to play together apart from their teammates. They don't have other competition or international events ie USA American football team v GB American football team or whatever.

I don't watch Pro Bowl as I never watch it.

I still wish it was after the superbowl so the guys who are playing in the big game and made the pro bowl...get their chance too.. That's how is has been for every year but the last couple.. I hate this way of scheduling it.

If it was up to me, I'd give them Pro Bowl sweats, then break them up into teams to play softball, or bowl, or play darts... or maybe all three. I'd rather watch Ray Lewis take on Drew Brees for 10 frames than whatever that pitiful excuse for a football game was.

DAmn, I missed it.

LOL, when I was a kid I would get so excited seeing those orange helmets out there.

It's a wonder more guys don't get hurt. The best and easiest way to get hurt playing football is to go halfassed.

Excelent Idea! Long drive golf challenge. Chip and put challenge. 10 frames of bowling. obstacle course! let them compete for prizes for thier charities!

Like the old Superstars competition. Greg Pruitt kicked ass in that.
