Default Who is worth a #4 pick?

Value at #4

1. Luck (he'll be gone)
2. Kalil
3. Claiborne
4. RG3

I'm not completely sold on RG3, but if he's there at #4 and H&H feel like he's the man then I would be okay taking him without regrets.

I know our greatest need is at WR and Blackmon may be the best WR in this class, but he's not going to be an A.J. Green or Calvin Johnson. *I don't see him as head and shoulders above the other top receivers in the draft (e.g. Floyd, Jeffery, or Wright). *Someone will be there at #22, so don't over-reach and draft Blackmon at #4.

I also think that Richardson will be a great RB in the NFL, but at #4 I don't think he's worth the value. *I only see value in the 3 choices above (mostly in Kalil and Claiborne as safe picks and with RG3 as a bigger risk vs. reward pick). *

So if we don't want any of those players then let's trade down and pick up a few more draft picks.

Depending on how far we trade back we may still be able to get Richardson or we could pick up LB/DE or WR.

This is hopefully the way we go. *And please do not give up picks to move up to #2. *We have too many needs and not enough depth at many positions.

I don't know how long we can trade back for. Don't get me wrong, i love Phil Taylor. But this year we could have had Julio Jones and Greg Little. Our offense would have been much more stellar and we most likely wouldn't even be including RGIII in our possibilities.

Sooner or later we're going to have to grow some nuts and make a pick. Not look at everyone and say "they will be really good players in the NFL, but not the best!"

We need one of these players. Be it Kalil, Claiborne, Richardson or Blackmon they will all strengthen the offense or defense.

I cannot pick between them. Kalil will give us an insanely strong O-line if Eric comes back strong, Claiborne makes our CB's among the best duo in the NFL, and the best young duo, Richardson will give us the running game we are crying for and Blackmon gives us the #1 wide out heading in to the future.

Blackmon may be a risk at #4 but we can clearly develop wide outs, i don't think anyone guessed Little with 60 receptions for 700 yards and Josh Cribbs for 40 receptions for 500 yards. Our best offensive stat was 24th in the league for passing. We cannot overlook these guys. The fans and media will lose their mind and we'll more than likely suffer a season just as bad. Then bye Pat Shurmer, bye Colt McCoy, Bye Brad Childress and then we're back to another "give me two years to get MY team headed in the right direction"

It's time to bite the bullet and go for someone. We need to start showing real improvements and that will come with getting more than 13 points a game, which Phil Dawson is most responsible for anyway.

Can't not make the trade and the still get extra picks.

So you took Little at 37 and we don't have Jabaal Sheard? I'd much rather have Sheard than Little, maybe you disagree...

You can trade down and still get stellar players if your scouts are doing their jobs..

Blackmon. He's going to be a very good WR. I don't care if people say he can't be Calvin Johnson Jr or A.J Green. At worst you've just said we'll have the 3rd best receiver in the league. Boom. He's my first option.

Richardson. Yeah, i know you guys don't like that. But i bet this guy is good for 1, 200 yards a year. Why would we not want a stud RB just because he's at #4?

Claiborne. I know we won't get him, but he's still worth the #4 if he shows up.

Obviously 3 of those guys - Luck, Khalil, and RGIII will be gone by #4 so that only leaves the Brown's option as Blackmon? Not bad considering his MVP performance in the Fiesta Bowl against Stanford, he had eight receptions for 186 yards and three touchdowns while leading OK State to their best record in many, many years.

IMO he plays bigger and faster than his size. We can't keep passing up on very good WRs in the draft when our crew is one of the worst in the league. I'd take him at #4 over Richardson, Coples, etc. even though I really think Richardson will be a stud.

I wouldn't be so sure right now that RG3 is gone by pick 4. Not when Peyton may end up outside of IND and Flynn still has to land some where. That's going to be a factor in who might try to trade up to take RG3.

I think the Rams would only take the trade off if it was us. Anyone else and they leave us open to get Blackmon. Someone would have to give up a lot for them to trade back.

If we could acurately predict who was stellar..we wouldn't be in the cellar. I am not necessarily saying worth #4.. mostly because I don't know how far we are trading down.. 2 picks or 20???.. What I am saying is.. if your scouts do the job you can get great players anywhere.. there are teams like pittsburgh that draft well every year without drafting at the top of the order.. There are others that do it too.. but Pitts IMO is consitently the best... The scouts have to be good or the GM has crappy info.

While we desperately need an RT, I don't think wasting a #4 on Khalil (an LT) and trying to switch him to RT is a smart move. Waste of value, and effort.. If RG3 is avail at 4, you take him. He really throws a nice ball. Accurate, and with velocity. Leads his WRs. Colts a great kid, and tough as nails but his knock is accuracy due to velocity. Threw behind a lot of guys. Good backup at his current price. I think we should dump Seneca. But Holmgren will win a Super Bowl before he lets Wallace go.

If we do the trade down thing, it better be for Courtney Upshaw and stick him at RDE. Then I'd look at WR with our next pick - Kendall Wright maybe.

I would not consider Kalil a wasted pick.. he would instantly upgrade our OL to one of the tops improving both the run and the passing game.. That being said.. I would not use the #4 on him ... There are an abundance of good tackles this year.. and could be had with the second 1st rounder, or 2nd round pick... should we go that route.
