I find these things fascinating. One-guy mocks are to the advantage of the mocker, not each team. They set up things to set up other things. Beat writer mocks let a guy with some inside info play GM for a day with no desire to arrange the board. Tony Grossi's blog: Cleveland Browns may have their choice of Eric Berry or Earl Thomas, mock draft shows | cleveland.com Last edited by Shep; 04-19-2010 at 11:16 AM. |

EDIT: Hey, I fixed the title but it keeps showing up wrong. |

| Fair enough, I wasn't sure how high Thomas' value actually was. I can see why some are saying the gap between Berry and Thomas isn't that much (I've read that a few places...)
__________________ BROWNS 2012: Its Weeden's job to lose, it was the second we took him #22 overall. We had a pretty good draft, and I'd like to start seeing some results. Fans already looking to next year and I don't blame them. I think we will have things to be excited about that we lacked last year and we have some real facepalm moments just like last year. It's going to be tough. We aren't Barking Hard for nothing. WOOF WOOF WOOF! ![]() |

Funny when you look back at last year where everybody was hoping Curry could fall to us somehow but thought if not Curry then we would take Orakpo but we traded out for more picks, which in hindsight was a good option. We only had 4 picks and a ton of needs. This year it's Berry who is taking the place of 2009's Curry, but still some differing opinions about the player to be taken if Berry isn't there. Anyone from Clausen to Bryant to Thomas. Could be we are all looking in the wrong direction again. I'm just wondering how far they are willing to trade down? Is Philly too far? There are needs and how they feel they need to approach the QB position could be the key to the way their first couple of picks are determined. If they feel there isn't anybody that trips their trigger as a QB then they can afford to bypass a safety need in round one because their are options in round #2. But, if they feel that McCoy is a guy worth chasing then they almost have to take a DB with their first pick. They just can't afford to wait until the 3rd round. If the team doesn't feel obligated to take a QB this year then I could see any combination of CB, S, WR, OT or DL with those fist picks. I also could see them trading down and moving some of the picks into next years draft. Don't be surprised if you hear the name Trent Williams if Cleveland is forced to stay at #7. But, they do seem to love Earl Thomas. Then again, they seemed to love Orakpo last year also. I believe they are looking real hard for a trading partner. |

If not Berry or Clausen, I would LOVE to trade down. Absolutely. I hope Eric Berry has more impact than Curry, if we take him. To me, Curry is a chase-and-tackle linebacker, a very good one, but not a centerpiece impact player. To quote Ryan Adams to Alo: Easy, Tiger. I want to like McCoy. I really do. I just think he feels more like a 3rd round pick. |
