The thread says Dez Bryant, not Jimmy Clausen. Yet I open it up and what's the topic turned to? Loverboy.

No, we're not. Dez Bryant is a Dallas Cowboy. Jimmy Claussen is a Carolina Panther. We didn't draft them, the draft is OVER, the clock isn't going to magically turn back and we're not going to draft them. They play for other teams, not the Cleveland Browns and we have NO ties to them. It's really, REALLY time to move the fuck on and get over it.

I think you're dreamin', KoK. We took McCoy instead of Clausen, just like we traded the ability to get Sanchez. For better or worse (and who knows)... it's gonna be written about.

And if Dez has a big year, the Browns will be mentioned.

Thats not true at all, people still talk about us and Adrian Peterson, this past
year many people (not including me) would bring up the passing og Rey Maualuga. People talk about us passing on Donnovan Mcnabb all the time...

The players we dont pick, can affect us just as much as the ones we DO pick...

BTW, I love how I get flamed for bringing up an NFL football related topic seeing as how theres plenty of off topic threads that pop up. I also love how people are claiming that I jump on "media hyped" players that I supposedly have major "man crushes" on. The fact is I was talking about Dez Bryant before last years draft, and Alo can vouch for that. It was before the media hype machine. You guys think I latch onto players that are media driven and thats not even how I do it. And quite frankly, its insulting. Ill tell you the truth flat out.

Im in college, I have alot of spare time between classes, which I use on this board, and researching draft prospects. I usually got to walterfootball check position lists from bottom to top, crossreference with many other college scouting sites looking for guys with either good measurables, good production, or both. Then I analyze our team decide what I beleieve we need to get better. Go back to my lists gather scouting reports and videos... watch/read, catch some college football games... and decide from there whether I like a prospect or not... If I like the prospect, I will defend that prospect to the death since I put so much damn time into it, hence why I seem so "passionate" about it.

It just so happens that the players I like end up being media hyped due to the things I base my original search for... guys with big production, good size and measurables, or both, which is usually what the media looks at... which is pretty easily understood.

I appreciate the direct approach to your issues with me, but I have to say... at least I care about the shit I say and the prospects I choose, If you dont care to read it then dont, quit being a bitch and whining about it... I hope you can appreciate that

Add all that up and you get draft day slide.

As for his parents issues, sure they are a concern, but I don't hold the kid to that. I 'DO' hold him to stupid stuff he himself did....like showing up out of shape, forgetting his shoes, not showing up for tryouts...etc.

THESE are the issues that concern me.

As for this article. Come on. The team just spent a pick on this guy and the coach is going to throw the kid under the bus??? They are trying to earn this kids trust (I bet he has a few issues on that front) so that they can properly mentor him. You don't do that by dissing the kid. As for the skills, I think Alo more than summed that up.

Dez has a long way to go to prove to be a hero...or a bust. But I think all things considered the Browns did the right thing by not drafting him.
I think Holmgren saw the red flags when he requested his signing bonus in $1 bills. Dez may a great talent but Tony Mandrich, Pac Man Jones or Ryan Leaf were also touted as great talents. Time will tell. Personally, I'm glad we passed.

new quote from miles austin!

Quote:
Said Cowboys WR Miles Austin of rookie WR Dez Bryant, "He's got some serious skills. Ball skills, catching the ball, route running, just natural skills that some people take time to develop, he kind of already has those right now. Hopefully, we can put those things in play and get rolling."

Some think Cowboys are gushing too much about Dez Bryant | ProFootballTalk.com

We're told he also had an excuse for everything that went wrong. When he seemed to be out of shape, he claimed that he didn't warm up. When he twisted an ankle, he blamed it on the fact that he was wearing new cleats.

Ever notice that if anybody says anything positive about Bryant or Clausen... somebody at PFW jumps to refute it really quickly? And then Alo passes it on?

I'm just sayin'. Austin's observations felt suspiciously specific to be generic spin, am I right?

Tell me this isn't a little strange. I dare you.

Coaches tell the Panthers' beat writers that Clausen was really good, really prepared, really accurate... and somehow that becomes controversial?

Uh... okay. But I'm sure Steve Smith will be angry throughout his 1,400 yard season, because, you know... Clausen's kinda cocky. .

Ever notice that anytime anybody from anywhere says anything that isn't positive about Clausen Shep comes running to his side with some BS about what is supposedly going on in his new coaches minds. Alo is at least posting a link of interest.

Even though everybody except GOD has said Miller is and will be the starting QB Shep will continue his assult on our sanity with continual dribble about his boy Jimmy.

C'mon. I think you get my point and know I'm right. Clausen, throughout an entire junior year, senior year, and now rookie camp looks every inch a franchise QB and still hasn't done anything in the Ryan Leaf Crazy Category.

You can feel the large serving of crow waiting in you future. As can my friend Alo.
