Wade Phillips is quoted as saying Dez Bryant is the most impressive rookie he's seen in 33 years of coaching, it has this article and video accompanied with it... heres the vid: heres an article [gdwl]Wade Phillips praises Cowboys' top pick: 'Dez Bryant is an absolute talent' 01:57 AM CDT on Monday, May 3, 2010 By DAVID MOORE / The Dallas Morning News dmoore@dallasnews.com ARLINGTON – Dez Bryant limped off the field as the Cowboys' rookie minicamp came to a close. Nothing to worry about, coach Wade Phillips assured. The first-round pick just turned his ankle a bit toward the end of practice and was held out of sprints as a precaution. A hobbled receiver is not the image Phillips will carry from his first extended exposure to Bryant. This is: "Dez Bryant is an absolute talent," Phillips said. "You don't get to be around many players that come in and look that good that early. "It's been 33 years, and there aren't very many that I can say look that talented at their position for a three-day period. We're pleased with him. "And he was on time for everything, too." The chronic tardiness that was listed in Bryant's debit column didn't materialize. He struggled with his conditioning in the first day of camp, but he fought through it and made difficult catches look routine in each of his five practice sessions. Phillips said whatever the coaches corrected or asked Bryant to do – lower his hips, come out of his break a different way, etc. – the rookie did the first time he was told. Bryant joked with the coaches before Sunday's drills that, "those defensive backs better be ready," but he fit in easily with the rest of his teammates and shouted encouragement during drills. "He's pretty natural and has great body control," Phillips said. "Great hands. Great quickness. Great power. Speed. He likes to compete. "He's a nice kid. He's yes sir, no sir. He's not a diva yet, for sure." Who caught Phillips' eye? Phillips hailed this rookie class as a smart, conscientious group and one of the best in terms of talent since he's been here. He was pleased with what he saw out of all of the Cowboys' draft picks. And what about the other undrafted rookies and free agents in attendance? Phillips said Titus Ryan (Canadian Football League) looked good at receiver and that he ran the routes well and looked really fast. Phillips added that defensive lineman Lorenzo Washington (Alabama) "stood out" in some of the things he did and that Mike Tepper (California) "looked pretty good" on the offensive line Phillips also said New Hampshire tight end Scott Sicko and free agent safeties Danny McCray (LSU) and Barry Church (Toledo) did some good things. Church in particular seemed to be in the middle of the action all three days, breaking up passes and intercepting a few balls. Briefly: Phillips had high praise for the football IQ of linebacker Sean Lee, saying the second-round pick already has 75 percent of the terminology the Cowboys use in their different formations and sets down. ... Seventh-round pick Sean Lissemore, the nose tackle out of William & Mary, finished in the top three in sprints to end practice and beat every wide receiver. ... How did Fresno State running back Lonyae Miller celebrate his invitation to the Cowboys rookie minicamp? He went to the barber and had him cut a star on the side of his head.[/gdwl] This really pisses me off, it really does. Next time we play the Cowboys, Dez will make us pay for passing... Im seriously sick of all the "character" b.s., ost of it is stray rumors and falsities created by other teams in order to let players drop to them... hence Dez to Dallas.. hence the rich get richer and the poor get poorer If only Dez was on our team... let me mourn this one out guys

Despite "rave reviews," Jimmy Clausen has a long way to go to unseat Matt Moore | ProFootballTalk.com EDIT: Apparently, Charles Chandler of The Charlotte Observer disputes the more negative aspects of PFT's report. I still have trouble seeing Clausen start Week 1. Last edited by Alo; 05-06-2010 at 08:17 PM. |

It's never the wrong time to add a superstar IMO. Whether or not Dez qualifies as one remains to be seen, but I don't understand the logic in your post, hammer. |
