Tribe daily game recap thread - 2010
mark buerhle absolutely handled the tribe today, and jake westbrook looked like a guy who hasn't pitched in a year.
buerhle surrendered a mere three hits in seven innings of work, while westbrook left the bases loaded in the fourth, though aaron laffey did a commendable job of limiting the damage by holding the white sox to a single run despite being handed the ball with no outs.
westbrook threw four wild pitches, though at least three of them could have been handled by rookie catcher lou marson, who did make a nice play to throw out mark teahen at second on a steal attempt.
there was very little positive action for the tribe in this game. westbrook got positively handled, starting with a monster shot by paul konerko in the second that the indians couldn't even dream of matching. buerhle shut the erie warriors down in the fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh, during which he allowed no hits and, i believe, no baserunners.
don't be mislead by travis hafner getting a hit, either. it was a complete bloop single that fell in front of juan pierre. in each other at bat, pronk looked like shit. though he made contact, everything was an easy fly ball.
these guys don't look too fuckin' good.
