Default The Pen: Week 2 Summary & Standings

After week 1, Ramrod’s urine was investigated for steroids and it came up clean. More specifically, we don’t have to worry about him going air born if he lights up a victory cigar. There are still some people that want to know what was in Arian Foster’s Snoopy pez dispenser in week 1 though. And when we find out – can someone get that stuff over to Shaun Rogers asap? That leads us to week 2 so here it is and what it is:

WOOF PACK I

Comets 109 BrownOut 95
LeSean McCoy scored 39 and Darren McFadden scored 21 to help lead the Comets to victory and a 2-0 start. Perhaps a bigger blow to BrownOut came when they realized they didn’t start a 2nd RB for the 2nd week in a row. This gave them 0 points to offset the 19 scored by Jermichael Finley. Solon gave an entertaining pre game pep talk to his cOMETS. “Listen you candyasses, I got a date with the Hottie I almost lost drafting you squids. You owe me so let’s finish these pukes fast.”

Thaaktown 111 FBrulz 99
Jahvid Best provided a team best (54 points) while Carolina’s Steve Smith contributed 15 more to lead Thaatown past FBrulz. FBrulz kept it competitive as Aaron Rodgers tossed in 30 points and the Titans Defense offered up another 14. The matchup enabled Thaaktown to improve to 1-1 while FBrulz fell to 0-2. The good news is that both teams remain confident in their outlook as there is a lot of football left to be played.

Brady Backers 125 Port City Blazers 105
The Brady Backers said they wanted to be physical so they showed up in steel toe shitkickers ready to kick off and kick ass. It was a Texas theme all the way as Andre Johnson and Tony Romo headed up the scoring with 38 and 21 points respectively. The Port City Blazers fought back with some impressive scoring efforts from Antonio Gates (22 points) and Roddy White (20 points). However, it wasn’t enough because the Bradys were much more than a bunch.

Jax Pumpkin Heads 130 WV Hoopies 126
Matt Schaub’s 45 points in tandem with Dallas Clark’s 19 points led to the Jax Pumkins Heads showering their coach with Gatorade. The Pumpkin Heads improved to 1-1 but the WV Hoopies didn’t make it easy. Drew Brees led the Hoopies with 23 and Reggie Wayne played the other super hero with 22 as they fell to 1-1. The WV JHoopies are the 2nd highest scoring team in the league which can be significant for any future tie breakers in determining playoff eligibility.

Hammertime 102 Team DangeRuss 69
Team DangeRuss got nailed by the Hammer when Peyton Manning scored 28 points and Matt Forte chipped in 16 more. DeSean Jackson led DangeRuss with 28 points while Brett Favre started acting his age as the 1 point effort would reflect. The win improved Hammertime to 1-1 while Team DangeRuss fell to 0-2 and in search of some Geritol for his QB.

Drink Beer 170 Cleveland Crennels 142
The weekend didn’t start off too good for Drink Beer when he called his wife Anita Beer. The good news is Drink Beer explained “I-need-a” only sounded like Anita and… Never mind, Frank Gore and Philip Rivers provided the winning edge with 40 and 32 points as Drink Beer overcame Cleveland Crennels lead heading into Monday Night. Adrian Peterson supplied the Cleveland Crennels with 34 points while Miles Austin chipped in 29 more. Drink Beer considers 2-0 as uplifting as 2 for 1 happy hour prices. Cleveland Crennels are now 1-1 with an impressive point total of 287 after 2 games.

WOOF PACK I STANDINGS W-L Pts

Drink Beer 2-0 296
Brady Backers 2-0 213
Comets 2-0 207
WV Hoopies 1-1 295
Cleveland Crennels 1-1 287
Port City Blazers 1-1 282
Hammertime 1-1 237
Jax Pumpkin Heads 1-1 211
Thaaktown 1-1 202
FBrulz 0-2 209
BrownOut 0-2 175
Team DangeRuss 0-2 154

WOOF PACK II

WarrenDawg 139 Seymore Winz 127
Andre Johnson’s 38 point effort plus Michael Vick’s 26 points proved to be too much for Seymore Winz. The win improved WarrenDawg to 1-1 while Seymore Winz continues to see more losses at 0-2. Tim Hightower gave the losing team 24 points while Roddy White scored 20.

Waiting for Noodles 85 Bulldogs 40
Waiting for Noodles got 15 points from Tom Brady and 13 points from Donald Driver to top the Bulldogs. The Bulldogs were led by Wes Welker’s 15 points. However, Brett Favre, Hines Ward and Ricky Williams combined to score 3 points. The win improves Waiting for Noodles to 2-0 while the loss drops the Bulldogs to 0-2. During Favre’s nightmare, the Bulldogs mascot UGA actually fell asleep during the game. How’s that for irony?

Golfer704u 141 Ramrods 127
Golfer704u scored the most points in the league this week. This was made possible thanks in large to the 39 points provided by LeSean McCoy and the 32 points Philip Rivers added. Golfer knew he was facing a team that wants to punish the opponent. Ramrod’s motto is: “If they ain’t crying – we ain’t trying!” Speaking of punishing the opponent, Ramrod received 34 points from Adrian Peterson and 25 more from Matt Ryan. In the end, it wasn’t enough as Golfer proclaimed his team does their talking with their pads. Golfer improved to 2-0 while Ramrod is now 1-1.

Ramrod Munchers 119 BIG Dawgs 109
Ramrod Munchers received 28 points apiece from Peyton Manning and DeSean Jackson to defeat the BIG Dawgs and remain unbeaten. The BIG Dawgs competed hard all the way to the end inspired by the 29 points from Miles Austin. Peyton Hillis and Visante Shiancoe also helped out with 14 points apiece. The BIG Dawgs fell to 0-2 but they seem to be having fun knowing full well there’s plenty more season ahead.

Dirty Dawgs 134 PRepublic 81
The Dirty Dawgs were the winning beneficiaries of Frank Gore’s 40 points and the 26 that came from the Steelers Defense. They scored 134 points even though they started Kevin Kolb who didn’t even play. Drew Brees sparked PRepublic with 23 points but it wasn’t enough to stop them from falling to 1-1 while the Dirty Dawgs improved to 1-1.

BernietheKid 133 SMWHREOVRDWAYNEBOWE 91
BernietheKid had a huge day collecting 30 points from Aaron Rodgers, 24 points from the Dolphins Defense and 22 points from Reggie Wayne. This team is now 2-0 and the highest scoring team in the league. SMWHREOVERDWAYNEBOWE fell to 0-2 in spite of Tony Romo’s 21 points and 17 more from Pierre Thomas.

WOOF PACK II STANDINGS W-L Pts

BernietheKid 2-0 282
Golfer704u 2-0 265
Ramrod Munchers 2-0 235
Waiting for Noodles 2-0 224
WarrenDawg 1-1 251
Ramrods 1-1 239
Dirty Dawgs 1-1 208
PRepublic 1-1 164
Seymore Winz 0-2 265
BIG Dawgs 0-2 182
Bulldogs 0-2 180
SMWHREOVRDBOWE 0-2 163

Good job with your 2-0 start man! After the drafts, I thought my Semore Winz team would be much better than my Drink Beer team. Seymore Winz lost week 1 in spite of scoring 138 points to 139. And then they scored 127 points this week to another opponent with 139 points. That's what makes it fun though over the course of the season. You can win matchups without needing to score a ton of points just like you can lose matchups when you outscore 85% of the league.

Check those available players folks and see if anybody dropped someone you want via waivers. Make it happen!

Can somebody "drop" me a good #2 WR or RB? Please! Percy Harvin is killing me and his back ups aren't much better! Clinton Portis, for serious lack of RB talent is my #2 RB.

Sun shines on a dogs ass somedays, anyone can hit the lottery.

Enjoy this while you can, it will not happen to often.

Testing me for steriods is an insult, but I can see why you would do it. Some people just get gifted from god. He definelty spent some time on me, I got in the right line when I was made.

I feel sorry for my next opponent. Im taking it out on you whoever it is.

it's too bad that one loss will keep you from competing with my undefeated season.

Well we play again, so that is impossible. But it would be cool if we both get to the championship and we're 1 and 1 against each other.

What players on your team do you plan to make this championship run with?

Matt Ryan?
