Am I the only one who watches this show? We just got Season 6 on DVD and finished the series last night. I loved the finale, and I thought it served as a nice end to the series. I thought they kind of rushed the final two seasons compared to the first 4. Things started rapidly moving in a certain direction (most likely due to the conscious decision to end the show when they did) and I felt that they could've stretched out the content of the final 2 seasons into maybe 4 seasons if they did it right. As it stands though, Lost was a triumph in my opinion. Some people didn't have the patients to let the story unfold and others couldn't handle the constant mysticism of the show and the constant questions that the show brought forth but I think that it answered all of the big questions and ended strong.

If anyone's been on the bubble with this show. I highly, highly recommend getting the DVD sets. The show works better in the DVD format than it ever could have hoped to on cable TV. I don't know how some people followed the show on cable week after week, the wait between episodes would have driven me mad. The DVD format gives you a much more casual pace but also allows you to watch the show at your pace. We burned through the final two seasons (also shorter seasons) in probably about a week and a half.

How many of you have seen the show, how many finished? Without getting into too much detail (as to not ruin the show for those who may be curious) what did you like about the show. If we have to put a spoiler warning up, fine, I just want to discuss!

I just recently finished watching it myself and I agree with your sentiments,it was a very well written show.
I never bothered to watch it on tv but I heard some things so when it became available on netflix the wife and I started watching it.
The only problem with the show from a viewer standpoint is it really needs to be watched from the first episode to the last,if someone popped in for an episode it would be such a turnoff because you wouldn't have a clue what was going on.
Now that the show is available completely on dvd more people who never watched it like myself might be able to find a show that truly was worth the time and enjoy it as much as my wife and I did.

I'm weird in that more often than not I can't watch a show till it is in re runs because I can't commit to the weekly sit down,I was like that with Seinfeld and now I'm so much of a fan of that show now that I own every season on dvd!

I started watching LOST about a year ago. I watched an episode and thought "hey, this is cool".

So, obsessive as I am, I went to ABC.com and I watched about 50 episodes in about 2 1/2 weeks (starting from the pilot up to the present, at that time). Then I had to watch the last season on TV (waiting a week between episodes) ...that was tough.

It was my favorite show!

Watched it, liked it, was sad to see it end.

Watched every episode week to week but worse than the week wait was the months and months of wait between seasons. Worse yet was ABC would show about 6 episodes then go on 1/2 season hiatus again for 3 months while they made more episodes. These long breaks turned me off a little on the show and caused some disinterest which probably led its season 6 demise before ratings dropped even further.

Jericho was given the same exact treatment and wound up getting canceled.
V was promising, same thing.
Surface was pretty good up until the first hiatus, then they added LOST style narration and recaps and just ruined it.
Chuck is being given the same LOST treatment and I'm afraid my favorite comedy isn't going to make it through a 4th season like this.

To make matters worse, they don't even advertise when the shows will be coming back on, so you're up to date, waiting months for a new episode then all of a sudden you're 3 weeks behind.
Video over internet isn't killing TV, producers and schedulers are.

Thank God for my Tivo. I usually pop into my "to do" list to see what's coming on tv. I have my Tivo watching for over 50 shows & keywords. Save's me from time/day changes, etc. I agree though!

Where would we be without tivo?
Thats the biggest reason I cant watch regular tv,I cant stay on there schedule.
I watched all six seasons of LOST in six weeks because of netflix and it was awesome.
Seinfeld was another show I didnt really get into till it hit reruns and now I own every season on dvd.

I don't have Tivo but I've got the next best thing, a HD DVR.
It already saved my ass because it auto-recorded Burn Notice and White Collar once they came back and I didn't realize they were on.
Checked the DVR list and there were 2 episodes each, got to play catchup for a night and then kept with them for the rest of the season.
I think the ONLY shows I watch live are Sons of Anarchy and when it was on, LOST.
Everything gets the DRV treatment and I just love skipping through the commercials.
And DVR is downright fantastic for football.
I really get to watch a game play by play, check out offensive line lateral movement and footwork, qb's throwing motions, ect...
