| I found a GREAT program for ripping DVD's so that you can TRANSFER & PLAY movies (even copy protected) on your Phone or Tablet. It cost me $10 and it worked great on my Xoom and Moto Droid 1. URL/LINK: DVD Catalyst 4 | Tools4Movies - Home of DVD Catalyst

Well, took the plunge and ordered a Viewsonic G Tablet. 10" screen, dual core Nvidia Tegra cpu, 16 gig internal memory, 512mb ddr2, 1.5 lbs, 8-10 hour battery life, micro sd port for up to a 32 gig card, Droid OS 2.2, and the best part? It's only $259.99 out the door! Far from it. But if you're wiling to root and flash it it runs just as well as the Moterola Xoom or Asus Transformer, and there is a working Droid 3.0 build that works on it customized for it by the user community. It won't be long before it's got a fully functional 3.0 OS going, making using 2.2 for a little bit well worth the $300 savings. Plus there are 3 nice, stable, FAST 2.2 rom flashes with full market access available for it right now, again, great way to hold out for a fully functional hiccup free 3.0 build. I love to tinker, so I'm DYING to get it in. You know, I'm posting off my laptop right now, but my desktop is shelved (nephew broke the motherboard) and this rarely ever gets used. Everything I do, every site I surf, is now done on my phone. I've become so accustom to Droid that a Windows pc is starting to become alien to me. Plus, in order to use my laptop, I've got to sit at a desk, table, or set up a tray table for my laptop if I want to use it on the couch. I want to be able to loaf on the coach and get in my net, videos and forums (you ever try and type out a thought out post on a phone? sucks ass!) without having to worry if one of the little kids in my family is going to chew through a power cord or knock off my laptop and damage it. Plus, my phone is an Evo 4g, the battery life sucks for playing games and watching videos, so having a nice in between that does a full 1080p that doesn't require constant charging is going to be SWEET even if it has a more limited viewing angle than the Xoom where only the person using it can clearly see it, boo freaking hoo to the kids that want watch what I'm doing, it's for me, not them. Really, how many people need to be huddled around a tablet? Anyways, thought I'd give you all the link if you've wanted a tablet but are turned off by the high prices. Like I said, it's a little work, but isn't saving $300 worth a half hour of your time?

Hello peeps! Posting on the new Gtab. Got it flashed cleaned and market installed. Runs like a champ! Got full flash on the internet, movies and video play great, and the screen angles are nowhere near as bad as some of the reviewers make it out. The speakers are ok and the onboard wireless N lets me surf pretty damn fast when none of the G stuff is on and dumbing down my router. The only thing I don't care for is the lack of an IMEI number, so some of the games I play on my phone won't play on the Gtab. Really can't complain for $260, I haven't even opened up my PC except to load files on to my micro SD card and flash a clean xda rom onto this puppy. Now I just need to find a few new games, hopefully some kind of sport management sim, to occupy my time like running Madden on the PC and simmimg through the games.

By the Way, our WiFi ONLY Moto Xoom got the 3.2 Honeycomb update today. One cool thing I saw was re-sizing applications that weren't made for a large Xoom screen. Example, we have a Word Finder game that displays at the size of a phone when you click on it. Now, when that application is opened (next to the Clock in the task bar), you will see an X with arrows on it (like what Youtube has when you want to go full screen), after clickin on that, a "Zoom to Fit" button appears. After choosing it, the application went FULL SCREEN and WORKED LIKE A CHARM.

Not trying to drag up a dead thread, but I've tried a few different of the XDA Guy's roms and thought I'd give a little input on my current favorites for my gtab. FLASHBACK is a honeycomb build, probably the most stable of the current android 3 series builds for gtab, it only lacks flash in the standard browser and wont play flash based apps. My absolute favorite rom to this point surprisingly enough is a 2.2 build, Calkulin/ Clemsyn v.5 build that amps up my core speed from dual 1,000 MHz cores to dual 1,500 MHz cores. All I can say is "Wow! This sucker is FAST!!!" Best part? I used the nook hack to add an IMEI, so now I can play all my games perfectly stable, no crashing, and everything opens and runs in a snap. I'm loving my tablet, defenetly one of my best buys in the PC realm.
