Default "Those Guys Have All The Fun" book about ESPN

Amazon.com: Those Guys Have All the Fun: Inside the World of ESPN (9780316043007): James Andrew Miller, Tom Shales: Books Amazon.com: Those Guys Have All the Fun: Inside the World of ESPN (9780316043007): James Andrew Miller, Tom Shales: Books

I bought this book on my travel week. It is pretty interesting so far. It begins with a father and son, Bill and Scott Rasmussen, who have an idea to start a sports programming network that was basically going to be broadcasting all sports in the state of Connecticut. Then some guy from RCA tells them about satellites in space, and then Getty Oil gets involved, and yada yada yada.....

I am burnng through this book. The very cool aspect is this book is written in the format where it is all story telling. Every word (except for 1/4 page narratives along the way) is people telling the story.

I highly recommend it for the sports junkie and for anyone curious about how the network giant began.

And the stories --- very good stories.

The Entertainment and Sports Programming Network (ESPN). Sounds interesting.

When I first read the title "Those guys have all the fun" my mind immediately raced to the rumors of Berman harrassing people, ex-QBs passing around self taken dick pics, and the blond reporter getting spied on in the hotel room, you know stuff like that....What, it isn't about that? Could make for a good parady book.
