I wouldn't take Troy Smith or Willie Parker. Parker has been talked about as a likely cut for WAS since early in camp. Clayton or TJ I'd have interest in.

I'm surprised the Dolphin cut Charles Grant. He isn't your prototypical 5 tech, but he was doing some nice work as a third down rusher.

I bet the Broncos snap him up...we should offer them Vekune...he is a 4-3 end period!

There goes Geathers.

Dolphins awarded Geathers, Parnell, Reitz, Rose, Will Allen to IR | National Football Post

Dolphins awarded Geathers, Parnell, Reitz, Rose, Will Allen to IR

The Miami Dolphins were awarded four players on waiver claims today: defensive end Clifton Geathers, offensive linemen Jermey Parnell and Joe Reitz and defensive end Robert Rose.

The team also terminated the contracts of veteran defensive ends Marques Douglas and Charles Grant and offensive guard Cory Procter.

And the Dolphins placed cornerback Will Allen on injured reserve with a knee injury, ending his season.

Geathers was the second of two sixth round selections of the Cleveland Browns this spring.

He played collegiately at South Carolina and was released by Cleveland on Saturday.

Parnell signed with the New Orleans Saints as an undrafted college free agent from Ole Miss this spring.

Reitz, a second-year player from Western Michigan spent the last two seasons on the practice squad of the Baltimore Ravens.

Rose signed as an undrafted free agent by the Seahawks in April. He played collegiately at Ohio State.

When they passed on him at 38, I literally crapped myself and threw up at the same time."

Rose & Geathers are both enigmatic talents who haven't put it all together. The Dolphins eventually will have to sneak one of them onto the p-squad, as neither guy can contribute anything this year.
