I'm all for giving Crable a workout, see what he has.

Why, he's injury plagued and has never even seen the field.

Yeah but Crable was a pretty nice player coming out of Michigan (myself and a bunch of others wanted him for our own). Knowing Mangini's penchant for BB's rejects, I think we are looking at Crable as we speak.

When I watched him in pre-season action, Crable looked pretty awful playing in space. It could have been in part due to injuries, but the guy never was all that great at changing directions.

Not versatile enough. Gain some weight and move to end.

Because sometimes it is smart business to give someone a workout and see if they have something that will benefit your team. If they do? Cool. If not? No harm.

There was somebody on TBB last offseason who was really high on this kid.

Anybody remember who that was?

I'll admait, I was. He never had an injury history and I thought he'd be a great fit for a 3-4 olb.(I wanted him in the 3rd if he lasted that long)
I like to call this Courtney Brown syndrome.
All the talent in the world, just can't stay healthy.

Cable was put on PUP list before he was cut. He was hurt and dinged a lot last year. I don't believe he is healty enough to go anywhere for a tryout at this point.

I can't see bringing in a guy who is going to spend most of camp riding a bike on the sidelines. I'd like to know if the guy really wants to play or if he's just looking to go through the motions to get a paycheck.

My sources say he's been working his ass off conditioning.
If that's true, then maybe he's overdoing it and causing damage to himself.

If he's injured then no, there's no sense in bringing him in for anything.

If not then I'd see no harm in it. It never hurts to take a look at players out there was my whole point. Though i'm still hoping we bring Kenny Peterson in soon.
