I don't know if you got the memo, but the laughable "everybody here thinks" shit has been retired... and I didn't say case closed. You did.

We'll disagree.

Maybe break through years in your eyes may be putting up more TDs (18) to INTs (12) for the first time in 4 years into a career. Or QBs who in 10 starts only exceed 250 yards passing twice, while averaging 30+ attempts a game. Guys having break out years at QB don't have half their starts result in QBRs of below 75 (and 4 of those 5 were sub 70). Sorry, that's not me. His numbers were good, for a bottom rung place holder QB. But that TD to INT and 6.3YPA is not my idea of a break through season for any QB.

Then again, I guess I shouldn't have an OPINION (which is all your's is as well) that differs from you on a QB.

Me, too. Except I actually did try. You respond to every word I say in exactly the same manner. I go out of my way to drop all that old shit.

You're a stubborn one... but we can't all be saved on the same day here. It'll come.

Honestly, Masters, when I think about it... you should read my posts but NOT reply That's when things go awry. I'm proud to be a part of a ton of great threads on this board where there's a zero percent meanness quotient (the board is better right now than ever before).

Things only go bad between us when you reply, and never nicely.

I really think Masters has done a really good job of talking football lately,I have enjoyed reading his posts.
The drama from all of US needs to fade away.

I'll let the thread and comments speak for themselves. I was nice and polite until the combination of the following gems:

I'm sure they're disturbed that you two say they're dead wrong. I'm sending each a bottle of premium tequila to help ease the disappointment.
But as usual, it's never you, it's always someone else.....It's not me that needs to read your stuff and not respond (gee, whose ego is still out of control with a line like that). But yeah, I am the one who didn't let things go and you tried.....

They're all responses, Master. I'm not being mean... just please see it. You started it with the "all of Shep's pet QBs" thing, which is vintage Masters provocateur.

Tell you what, let's be proactive: I won't say a single snarky thing to you from this moment forward.

dude dont lie, we all know if Brady Quinn threw 18 td's and 12 int's last year we would ALL be calling it his break out year, thats a FACT

Alex smith is not bad quarterbacking, you should know this, you have watched our team for the last 3 years have you not? You would give your left testicle for 18 td's

I think Masters and I are doing low-level chickenshitting, started with little jabs at guys I like, etc., but I did spitball back, so I'm culpable.

I'm going to continue weaning myself from this bullshit. We're all doing way better.

If Quinn did that with last seasons roster of rookie WR and his first season of starting, I still wouldn't call it a break out season. I'd say he was poised to have a break out season after doing that. But maybe not if the numbers by game looked like Alex Smiths did (or the way that O actually looked when you watched them with him at the helm).

I didn't say Alex Smith was bad QBing, I said his numbers were good, for a bottom rung place holder QB. Which right now is what he is in SF imo.

PGL, I would admit that my Browns fandom might cloud my judgement if it was a Browns QB who had Alex Smith's totals from 10 starts. I might try to forgot the bad from the games. Then again, I didn't do that after DA's 2007 season. I complained during and after that season that he was not good, the totals didn't tell the real story, and that he was actually mostly bad, not good that season.

Couple things about Smith's season:

- 18 TDs in only 11 games. If a Brown QB did that, we'd wet ourselves. Translates to 27 in a full season.

- Closed with two victories and QBR's both over 90.

- Had 5 really good games (QBR over 95)... and 2 bad ones (5 of his INTs were in 2 games).

He had a very nice year, I contend. I also agree that in a contract year, he's going to have to have another. If he really does have 27 TD passes? He's gonna get a huge long-term deal.
