Heisman QBs Troy Smith and Matt Leinart get cut on the same day. Wow.

No, he probably wants to go somewhere where he won't be 4th string.

Hard to believe troys best days are already behind him.. . Lienart will get picked up somewhere.. Maybe for troy... Pissburgh may grab someone for a few weeks for another backup until Pigben can play again. I don't think either guy is what we need on OUR roster.

Two guys who many people knew couldn't be NFL starters when they came out.

We won't be in the market. Just referencing Smith's quote from last year.

I think Leinart goes to Seattle on an incentive deal, moves up to 2nd behind Hasselbeck pretty quickly.

Troy? I don't know. It's tough out there.

Max Hall is as close to starting as any rookie QB who isn't Bradford. How's that for a kick in the ass? Whiz says he was the best QB in camp.

Really?
Think I did too!
His numbers weren't the greatest, but go back and torrent, err, find the Tennessee game and just watch him read the field, NOT be captain checkdown and make plays. Most of those bad numbers were due to drops that hit the wrs in the hands.
He looks a season and a half ahead of McCoy at this point.
Hall is just fascinating and DA is just keeping the seat warm for him.
HOW THE HELL DID EVERYONE MISS THIS GUY?!

Exactly what happens to team that need QBs and start taking guys just because they are there and you need one. Throwing millions at a guy like Leinhart was stupid.

There's something to be said about overdrafting QBs too high. Some may never admit it but there also are years where the QB class just isn't that good (this year). So, you don't just take a guy because some talking head says he's the highest rated QB on the board.

Some wanted to take Clausen at #7. Can you imagine paying him 30 + million to hold a clipboard. That's overdrafting the position.

Fully agree with you YTown. While watching FLA/Miami (OH) today, they were talking about Leinart. Greise started talking about how Leinart was a great college QB, but you have be smarter in realizing for some guys that is the mountain top. Then talked about how Leinart didn't have the arm for the NFL, and you could see that when he was at USC.

I loved Troy at OSU, but I never thought he'd be an NFL qb and not worthy of anything more than a 5th round pick.
Sorry Troy, but I've gotta still say pass.

It's amazing how unsuccessful Heisman winning QB's have been over the last 20 years in the NFL. Carson Palmer is about the only one you can say has done fairly well and he hasn't won the big one yet either. I believe Jim Plunkett is the last Heisman QB to win a Super Bowl and he won the award in 1970. It's almost a curse to win the Heisman if you want to be a pro QB. Who knows maybe Tebow or Bradford can change that but I'm not sure if Timmy boy will be the one either.
