Default Vick leads NFL in fan votes for pro bowl

I know many of you hate Vick, but you cant deny the talent and production, looks like he's in the pro bowl once again! (My first and only blog post I wrote back in week three predicted this one) he has risen once again and it seems most of the fans have forgiven him for the whole dog fighting fiasco and have once again put him up on a pedestal of greatness by voting him into the pro bowl.

per PFT:
Quote:
Less than two years after he was released from prison, Michael Vick’s reputation has recovered to such a great extent that he might just be the most popular player in the NFL.

The league revealed today that Vick has 729,838 fan votes for the Pro Bowl, which puts him in first place among all players in the entire league.

Vick has surged ahead of Colts quarterback Peyton Manning, who was in first place among all players but has now fallen into second, 38,692 votes behind Vick.

The NFL selects Pro Bowl rosters through a combination of voting from fans, players and coaches. Pro Bowlers will be announced later this month.
Boo hoo Peyton Manning

Is there a way of seeing the votes for the rest of the players?

Difference is.... this would be Vicks 4th Pro Bowl, and his career passer rating is like 25 points higher

Oh and vick has thrown more touchdowns than interceptions in his career

and he has a future in the league

Vick got to those previous 4 pro bowls based on his running and popularity, not his actual QB ability. Prior to this season his highest QBR for a season was like 82, and all the other years were in the 70s. He reached 20 TDs one time. None of which was pro bowl quality QB play imo.

This year is the first time his play as a QB is actually earning him that spot.

Wow great, he's leading the votes for the NFL popularity contest where you don't actually need to be a top tier player to get voted in, you just have to be popular.

There's great news though, Philly is going nowhere with that scrambling QB bullshit like every other year, so after they're knocked out of the playoffs via stout defense he has plenty of free time to go to the Popularity Bowl. That is if he and his posse aren't out shooting more bustas at birthday parties.

There's an awful lot of people on this board that weigh QB rating very heavily.

Regardless, Vick deserves it this season, definitely.

Vick is having a good season and merits consideration. Also, Philly is going to be a tough out for anybody of they make it too the tournament. That's an explosive offense but also can out together long drives as well.

Vick
LeSean Mccoy
DeSean Jackson
Jeremy Maclin
Jason Avant
Brent Celek

That offense is quite ridiculous, Vick is enough to worry about on his own let alone all of those

Thank GOD we have Heckert now, because he made that offense, hopefully ours will be similar soon

I actually don't personally weigh it that highly (used to argue with shep about it all the time), as by game it can be very misleading. Just one data point regarding Vick in his past pro-bowl seasons, which is why I also point out his TD totals. The guy in those years was a terrible QB, but a great running/athletic threat, which got him in to those pro bowls.

This year, fully agree Vick deserves it. He's actually playing QB and doing so at a high level.
