My big problem with Quinn was that he struggled with the 8+ yard pass, a very fundamental skill for a guy who's job is to toss a rock. That pretty much killed him dead in the water. If Clasuen can throw a ball farther than his ankles he probably has a better shot at a future than Quinn, who looks screwed to me.

Clausen is terrible down field as well. I think his future is that of Quinn's at this point.

Clausen has shown about as much, if not less than Quinn. That TD and INT number goes to show that.
Good stuff Masters!

At least Quinn was able to beat the teams ND was supposed to beat and lead his team to BCS Games. The second they changed QBs they dropped from an inability to hang with 3 consecutive BCS caliber opponents to not being able to hang with the 3 military academies.

Clausen got a TON on meaningless junktime stats in games they weren't gonna win as well as Golden Tate's YAC from short throws. If Quinn wasn't impressing me AFTER that program - it was difficult to get excited about a QB accomplishing so much less in the wins column during his time at ND.

Weis looked like a VERY intelligent Coach when he had 2 different QBs named Brady. He got fired when he counted on the Pickle for 3 consecutive years. And I hear Carolina's coach is about to get fired. Is there a trend here? I don't care if his arm is as strong as Kyle Boller's - his accuracy is just as bad so what does it matter?

I was one that thought Quinn was gonna be GREAT once he was given a chance. I divorced that school of thought the day Harrison ran the equivalent of a 5k with the the football on KC's defense. The REASON I would make such a weird statement is because KC brought EVERYONE but 2 corners into the box and those 2 corners gave enormous cushions to our WRs practically begging Quinn to throw at them. Both times he did so he threw the ball right to those corners for INTs; and it's NEVER going to be a more favorable throwing circumstance than was KC was giving him. I think he had QB rating in the low 40s that day if memory serves me right.

I fell for that pro style training stuff BIG time. If I was smart, big if, I would have asked what pro style defenses did he beat with that pro style offense. Ironically, the Tim Tebow coming from a spread offense, looked pretty freakin good last week starting over Quinn.

Okay you have me there but I can't shake Quinn's final games in the Brown and Orange, the Detroit game aside, he played some AWFUL football and showed absolute ineptitude when attempting to throw the ball down field. It got to the point where I almost hoped DA would be put into the game until we were quickly reminded why we all disliked Derek Anderson to begin with.

Plus you gotta look at Carolina versus what Quinn had with us. I think Carolina this year has been down right awful. All of Claussen's games were in one year, Quinn's 14 games were spread out over the course of 2 or 3 seasons, were they not? I don't know if that helps or hurts the argument but really I think it's worth noting for sure.

I wouldn't be happy with either QB but Quinn... pretty much made me face palm any time he was QBing for us last season.

BROWNS 2012: Its Weeden's job to lose, it was the second we took him #22 overall.
We had a pretty good draft, and I'd like to start seeing some results.
Fans already looking to next year and I don't blame them.
I think we will have things to be excited about that we lacked last year and we have some real facepalm moments just like last year.
It's going to be tough.
We aren't Barking Hard for nothing.
WOOF WOOF WOOF!
