Al Davis fired a coach that actually wanted to coach for him? I don't think he gets to sue this one.

Raiders go 6-0 in the division but become the first team since the merger to do that and miss the playoffs.

Can't say I'm surprised. The only way you get to keep your job in Al Davis' regime is to get an impromptu Super Bowl birth and maybe being on Wacky Al's level. As someone said on Twitter

"Cable is likely to be fired as keeping him wouldn't confer with Davis' master plan."

We had a pretty good draft, and I'd like to start seeing some results.
Fans already looking to next year and I don't blame them.
I think we will have things to be excited about that we lacked last year and we have some real facepalm moments just like last year.
It's going to be tough.
We aren't Barking Hard for nothing.

That doesn't matter. Gruden went the doorstep of the Super Bowl and was then traded.

You get to keep your job if, and only if, you can 100% be congruent to Al's ways and go to the playoffs every year. As this is impossible Oakland has had 5 head coaches since 2003.

Well, I bet Rob Ryan gets a HC gig...

Imagine if Savage had decided after the '07 season that he needed to promote Chudzinski to HC because Crennel wasn't the real reason behind the good year and there was a possibility another team would steal Chud. Would it have been smart for Savage to make the move?

If the Raiders end up giving Hue Jackson their head coaching job, that's essentially what Crazy Al will have done. We'll see if it works out.

I might never question AL Davis's knowledge of the game but,his ownership abilities or lack there of should be questioned...Just sad what he has become.

Interesting question. I wonder what the leaders of the Raiders think about booting Cable. Of course they have to back the HC that Al chooses, but really.........you just fired the coach that went 6-0 in the AFC West? Really?

Fucking stupid.
