But Jeff Fischer is likely to be fired next year.

Does Mangini have a fetish for doom jobs or something?

Good luck for the guy.
He did some good here, and was more likable his 2nd season.

Maybe they are using Fischer for a year, like Holmgren did Mangini ...and next year Mangini takes over.

Than again, with Manginis great defensive mind, he may force them to keep Fischer.

For me, I want some kickass D out of TENN with Eric Mangini. He is a fellow Italian, and I really get him as a coach; I get him as a HC too. He is very articulate and football/street smart as a coach who develops players. And a schemer of defense, man he can coach players to believe.

In the future he may prove to capitalize on such ability to become a great HC. I hope so.

But right now I trust Mike Holmgren and Tom Heckert. Time will tell. Lerner paid MH money, then Mike got Tom Heckert the GM from PHI, and they evaluated Eric after 15 mos.

Man I would dig a perfect world where the Browns kept Eric Mangini as a DC. He is a brilliant coach. A great teacher. If he becomes a game day coach as well -- LOOK OUT.

IF ---- that is the question based on his history come game day as a HC. Chris Palmer clone? Great teacher, loves football to the core, but not a leader of 53 guys? Eh, to me that is a consideration. And like I said MH/TH have more inside info to make this decision than any of us.

I am drunk. PPPfffftttt!
