Maybe Holmgren can convince Jauron to take a position next to Haskel as an "advisor" and hire fisher as DC

Biggest complaints I've heard we're about the quick trigger for Young while Fisher was willing to go 0-5 with Collins in 06 and 0-6 with Collins in 09. Ironically, both would be seasons VY won 8 starts (in 11 tries in 06 & in 10 ties in 09) that would lead to 2 Pro Bowls. The PROBLEM there? The owner who resides in Houston year round (true story - research it) power played the Head Coach who didn't want the Houston native as his QB. Vince Young was a toy to Bud Adams because they came from the same city in TX. Apparently, Jeff Fisher is a USC Grad and his boy all the way was Matt Leinart, not to be confused with the Jay Cutler who played college ball in Nashville. Ironically, they both had a patriotic favorite; and VY never trusted that Fisher WANTED him to work. That being the case, he would live out most of his days in TN as the same brat Cutler was being portrayed as in Denver when the new Head Coach there had a different idea at QB. Same story, different dude = Head Coach fired and QB playing elsewhere. The irony of it all is that Jeff Fisher was named Coach of the year in 2006 when VY resurrected an 0-5 start via Collins to an 8-3 finish. Believe it or not, this was after a 14 game losing streak that went well into the previous season from a team that was capped out in 05. There was never an ounce of trust between the HC and the QB the owner drafted. Neither handled it well; and both guys are capable of doing well with the right fresh start elsewhere. OTHER big complaints I heard dailey and most recently - was they wanted the DC fired. They despised Chuck Cecil for the epic coverage breakdowns in 2010. Don't shoot the mailman if you look this up and see they did okay against the pass or something. They griped about games where nobody looked in synch or on the same page in the secondary. They also didn't didn't like seeing Cecil flip the refs the middle finger; BUT they seemed to forget the OWNER was seen on video flipping off his friend Ralph Wilson during the same season. They did have injuries to the LBers both seasons as we learned about Bulluck's reconstructed knee in 09 and starters were lost for considerable portions of 2010. I hardly watched any TN games in 2010; but all I could think of is how bitter they are for having a more than a few double digit winning seasons and 1 SB appearance in the lst 10-11 years. This seems more of an example where change is healthy. I don't see Fisher as the type that would come back to coaching as a coordinator any more than I could see Cowher or Gruden or Parcells or Billick or any other Head Coach that took a team to SB Sunday in that capacity. I've certainly been wrong before though. I COULD see Eric Mangini doing that or even becoming a lead candidate for the TN Head Coaching vacancy. Rumor is Mike Munchak is alo a leading candidate since he's never left this team dating back to Houston for continuity purposes (and rememberiing they've had a RB leading the league in rushing with a couple tackles that made the Pro Bowl). There's some talent on both sides of the ball in TN; but there's no QB that can win at this time. I think the biggest problem with TN is there owner is a loose cannon.

This is a head scratching move of Al Davis proportions. Watch them bring Vince Young back to complete this vicious cycle. I'm hoping Mangini DOES get the HC job so that when the Titan's turn around, the endless complaints about the coaching staff can continue -_-.

Fans already looking to next year and I don't blame them. I think we will have things to be excited about that we lacked last year and we have some real facepalm moments just like last year. It's going to be tough. We aren't Barking Hard for nothing. WOOF WOOF WOOF! ![]() |

This is definately more about personality and ego's than about the Titans team as a whole. Adams wins since he owns the team..but ultimately the team loses.. Fischer is an excellent coach.. He has built and rebuilt that team 4-5 times now and they are nearly always in the playoff mix... Indi has had the upper hand in the past decade.. but that's not really Fischers fault IMO.. I really like and respect the guy. I wish him well in his future.
