-I for one, think cinci came out Golden, that AJ Green/Andy Dalton connection could really go all the way. They still need an O-line improvement... Tits Mcgee is shaping up to be a bust of Epic proportions, I think this is a make or brake year for that LT. -Everyone already knows I love the Locker pick to the titans... -The Lions seemed to be GOLDEN.... Throwing 2 beasts next to their other 2 beasts.. Suh and Megatron both get lasting companions in Fairly and Young... If Stafford is healthy... Detroit may be a force.. -The Giants may have taken the cake... of all the teams.. they were truely BPA... they made out *Prince Amuwhatever *Marvin "wreckingball" Austin *Jerrel Jernigan what teams do you think did exceptionally well and why?

Atlanta sure had a great draft... wait a second.
__________________ BROWNS 2012: Its Weeden's job to lose, it was the second we took him #22 overall. We had a pretty good draft, and I'd like to start seeing some results. Fans already looking to next year and I don't blame them. I think we will have things to be excited about that we lacked last year and we have some real facepalm moments just like last year. It's going to be tough. We aren't Barking Hard for nothing. WOOF WOOF WOOF! ![]() |

I don't follow enough guys or teams to answer this fully but I'll give the Bears side of things (my other team). Bears got OT Gabe Carimi, DT Paea, a big, strong QB from N. Idaho and an LB. Not super sexy but the top two should be instant contributors and the QB is the kind of developmental guy Holmgren loves. The LB is just a guy but should contribute. The Bears gave up a ridiculous amount of picks to get Cutler (two firsts, a 4th and Orton, I think) so they've been hamstrung in the draft for two years. That plus their GM Jerry Angelo is not the best first round talent evaluator; the team only has 2 first rounders from his tenure left (TE Olsen and OT Williams, who has not lived up to his billing). I'd give them a C+ because the top two are good but they were thoroughly lucky to get them both the way they did. |

| Atlanta What I liked: Jacquizz Rodgers was one of college football's most exciting players, undersized in the mold of Darren Sproles, but sturdier in his frame. He could prove more integral to the offense than No. 1 pick Julio Jones -- but they didn't trade a slew of picks to get Rodgers. What I didn't like: Thomas Dimitroff took an incredible risk by trading away an incredible five picks simply to land Jones. History proves that first-round wideouts have a huge rate of failure in the NFL and that the position is incredibly overvalued by teams, fans and analysts. Sure, the Atlanta passing game struggled at times (19th in Passing Yards Per Attempt). But the biggest statistical needs were on defense: The Falcons were 27th against the run last year, surrendering a porous 4.63 YPA. They drafted only two defenders, neither of whom project to be NFL starters. A lot of bold but high-risk moves mortgaged on the back of seven draft picks. Big needs on defense generally unaddressed. Byrne - SI.com ------------------------------------- I bolded the above in red just so everyone understands why it is never a good idea to take a WR high in the draft - especially first round. Kevin says it all and there is nothing more to add. |
