On Garrard: It was a $9 million decision. That's what they saved... and that's a TON for a mediocre QB who's never come close to leading you anywhere to keep the seat warm for your 1st round franchise dude (who looks like the real deal).

What they saw in preseason out of Garrard wasn't enough to warrant that kind of money. They were pretty open about him needing to play better, get his groove on, so it wasn't REALLY out of nowhere. He knows he didn't earn it.

He's the guy you start until you get something better. He's not That Guy... in a league where you either have one or you're looking for one.

On the other hand London would have a great home field advantage especially against teams from the Pacific time zone - the opponents would be running around like zombies and half asleep!
League insiders say Los Angeles probably gets the next two, with Chargers first and then someone else a few years later.

Tampa was 10-6 last year and they're blacked out for the opener, too. Snowbird cities, I guess. But I don't think that's true of L.A. It's not like the Lakers have trouble selling tickets because everybody's from somewhere else. Or the Trojans. Or the Angels. Or the Dodgers before everybody started boycotting to chase the owner out of the league.

Tickets will sell until a team starts sucking over in LA. That's why people show up to Laker games.

That's possible, Crow. One of the theories is that there are just too damn many options in SoCal to pay a lot of money to watch a bad team.

Chargers might be an exception. Already a ton of Chargers fans here.

Too many options in socal to watch a bad team play? Such as? I say if you have a lot of $$$ there are options no matter where you are. IMO you have to have a lot of $$$ to live in socal to afford an overpriced house away from a gang infested area and to be able to put gas in your car thanks to the overtaxed gas. Don't get me started on the frigid ass Pacific Ocean that is colder than Lake Michigan - talk about shrunken and shriveled heads!

Maybe there are just a lot of bandwagon Cowboy, Steeler, and Pat fans there who won't support any other teams...
